Hamas leader defiant

edition.cnn.com

"Victory comes with patience," Haniya said in the speech televised on Hamas' Al Aqsa TV. "O people of Gaza, with your patience you are drawing the features of a new future."

It is the second speech by Haniya since Israel began its military operation in Gaza on December 27. His office was struck by an Israeli airstrike in the early days of the military campaign.

"What is truly happening and all honesty is a divine verse of God," Haniya said -- a statement reminiscent of the rhetoric used by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who spoke of a "divine victory" over Israel in 2006.

Israel fought Hezbollah militants in Lebanon two years ago in an effort to stop Hezbollah rocket fire into northern Israel. The six-week war failed to weaken the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon.

Israel launched its military operation in Gaza more than two weeks ago to halt rocket attacks on southern Israel, which it blames on the Hamas leadership of Gaza.

New future? Has this guy been sniffing the white phosophorus too long or what? It is one thing to be defiant in a battle you know you can win, but this guy has no chance here. Furthermore, it is the people he represents that are piling up on the casualty list. I am pretty sure this guy is secured away safely in some Saddam like spider hole. If this guy really cared about his people he would A) come out of hiding and go out in a blaze of glory or B) lift up the white flag and live to fight another day.

LOL... Hamas gives a damn about the people... the more that are killed in the crossfire the better for them as the pictures of the suffering and ravages of war lend sympathy.

Here is the latest news link

www.bloomberg.com...

“Gaza will not falter; our triumph over the Zionists is close,” said Ismail Haniya, former prime minister of the Palestinian Authority and Hamas’s political leader in Gaza, in a pre-taped address broadcast on the movement’s television station.

Egyptian Warning

While seeking to cement understandings with both sides to end the conflict, Egyptian officials reminded Hamas that the bloodshed could have been avoided.

“Egypt has repeatedly warned that a refusal to renew the truce would prompt Israel to attack Gaza and that attempts to thwart Egypt’s efforts to extend the truce was an open invitation to Israeli aggression,” the Egyptian government said in a statement from the Information Ministry.

Their buddies Hezbollah could give a rats ass about the people either... just the usual death death death.. blah blah blah.

Hezbollah urges Hamas to 'kill as many Israeli soldiers as they can' during Gaza op

Have Egypt take control of the place and waste these freeking Hamas idiots and maybe there can be a peace.

Hamas could easily end this all by surrendering and giving the Palestinian an opprtunity to forge ahead through the peace process. Instead they want to act like they are defending the place when in reality they are ducking and hiding.

See the thread on here about how Iran is instructing Hamas not to accept any peace proposals. Iran is behind Hamas stubbornness.

The Middle Eastern terrorist/dictator/brainwashed followers are behind Hamas "stubborness." This is what happens when you hammer the concept of this life not being worth spit and promise an afterlife full of everything they've spent their Earthly lifetime dreaming about into a group of people day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year. I'm willing to buy the idea that terrorism isn't approved of by "real" Islam. I am not, however, willing to accept anyone's claim that these terrorist organizations haven't totally infiltrated Islam and used it to bend the people to do their will, including provoking endless war and continuing in unwinnable wars until the last follower is dead.

It takes a damn weak mind to watch everyone around you run into various suicide missions which ultimately only result in yet more of your own people dying, and not once stop and ask "Why the hell aren't these supposedly 'righteous' leaders of our leading by example and blowing themselves up in the middle of our enemies?"

Considering how much these terrorists are willing to sacrifice their own children, and the children of others in suicidal attacks, you have to wonder how many children are being killed, or purposely sent into harms way to pump of the numbers of dead children to further their cause.

Should Hamas be allowed to surrender just before the Israelis are about to completely take over control of Gaza? It seems there should be a point of no return. Once Israel has taken over so much of Gaza that their vicotry over Hamas is all but certain, then no peace should be accepted. Israel should re-occupy Gaza until they can finish clearling out all of the radical elements that have instigated this war.

NO, But I bet you you they will try it. And even when this is all said and done Hamas will try to claim victory.
