in the past 8 hours Puerto Rico has been hit by 5 quakes biggest one 3.6

is it just me or has the yellowstone swarm migrated southeast to Puerto Rico?

lol no it didnt migrate

and 5 quakes isnt a "swarm" by most peoples standards either

yellowstone expieranced roughly 500+ quakes in a week

thats wayyy more quakes

also, I would like to suggest you read more information on geology because your comment about "migrating" either 1) Shows your joking around or 2) Shows you have very little understanding of plate techtonics

I wouldnt be a cool guy to suggest you read and leave you hanging.
So heres a little material to get you started, if your truely interested in the subject matter.

In 21 years that I spend in my home Island of PR, I only felt two earthquakes so this is major, I will be calling my parents to ask what is going on and post as needed.

I had no clue that this was happening in PR, so I guess is most be affecting the entire Caribbean Islands as they are connected under the sea.

I have often wondered if the Mayan calendar and its prophesiers end to humanity is a localized phenomena. What if it is that whole region which becomes ocean and therefore no longer exists? I have thought about moving to PR but I now get the hit that the window has closed and it is no longer a good idea. I am not sure if it a political thing or the fact I have no roots or family there, if civil unrest happens I would be on my own...

It has been the mountainous regions with a view of the oceans that beckon me and my organic farming.

I pray all will be well in PR. be sure and follow up as a few small quakes should not be reason to worry.

This is the first I have heard of a Puerto Rican earthquake swarm.
Is it officially a swarm or is that something the OP is calling it?
Any data or information links would be helpful.

LMFAO!!!

man, this thread needs to be shut down.

yellowstone swarm migrated south to PR? ahahaha! you freaking kidding me right?

maybe you should look at the history for an area before making wild claims in which you know nothing about.

PR (and surrounding area) get at least 5 quakes a day ... looks at where it is ffs.

please please please.. someone kill this retarded thread.

and it's NOT A SWARM! get a clue

you should all check out the usgs earthquake center, as the last

10 days of data have shown daily puerto rican earthquakes between 10

and 60 miles in depth, many days having near hourly PR earthquakes

(and mostlly around 3.1-3.3 on the modified richter scale).

DESPITE THE HISTORIC FREQUENCY OF EARTHQUAKES HERE,

THE PATTERN SEEMS INCREASED.

what does everyone think?

WOW...news to me. I am here in Puerto Rico, been working on the island since January....I haven't felt a thing? I know they are there, happening along the coast but have never felt one yet. When my beer bottle starts to shake I'll report back......

Cheers!

I have been watching the Puerto Rico swarms, and what is funny, is many of my friends down in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, didn't even know about the swarm. The media hasn't mentioned it. The map had gotten up to 140 quakes in one weeks time. It has calmed down a lot right now.

One expert said, because Bill went North, it pushed down the plate some and calmed them. I keep my eye on the area, since I know so many people down there, from my living in the Virgin Islands for so many years.
