$81.2 million

B. TEXAS PUBLIC HOSPITAL DISTRICTS
Estimated uncompensated care for undocumented immigrants (fiscal year 2006♦)
$596.8 million

Now add to that all the money illegal immigrants take out of local economies to send to Mexico, etc. That part of the illegal immigration problem is one thing that really bothers me, because it is happening on such a large scale, in what are already trying financial conditions in the US.

While other communities may not have the same kind of expenses a border state will have with illegal immigrants, you can imagine that the national figures must be staggering, on all counts!

And in the middle of this, we've got Homeland Security chiefs hiring illegals (see ATS Related Threads)? This is a lesson in just how screwed up our system is. Infested with corruption on all sides of the fence, is there really any solution to all this?
