New England border protection chief charged with hiring illegal immigrants

www.boston.com

The regional director of Homeland Security, Customs, and Border Protection was charged today with repeatedly hiring illegal immigrants to clean her Salem home after one cleaner wore a wire during an undercover investigation.

Lorraine Henderson is the director of the Port of Boston, overseeing 190 armed federal officers who patrol major airports and shipping terminals in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

Agents arrested Henderson at her Salem home at 8 a.m. Standing this afternoon in US District Court in Boston, she wore jeans and a gray sweatshirt and did not enter a plea to a charge of encouraging an illegal immigrant to remain in the country. If convicted, she faces as much as 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

We've talked about fining employers for hiring illegal immigrants, but this takes the cake! And people wonder why we have a problem with illegal immigration? :shk:

Despicable.

After having a baby, the original housekeeper allegedly came back to work for Henderson, who counseled her to avoid detection by law enforcement.

So here we have a REGIONAL DIRECTOR of customs counseling an illegal immigrant on how to avoid law enforcement detection? You have got to be kidding me. Unbelievable.

So just for the heck of it, I went to craigslist and looked up what it might cost to hire what appears to be American cleaning services, to see just how much money she saved. And according to this ad right here, offering services in Salem, $0 !

We are a group of quality, hardworking and reliable housekeepers who make a prime nursing home in Topsfield no.1 and cleanest in Northshore. We are not licensed to do our job but we know quality and details. We are very meticulous when it comes to cleaning and sanitary standards. Each of us has 2 days off during the week, so that's when we do our services outside the healthcare facility. We have a lot of good references. And most of all we are just charging lesser than anybody else because we value customer's trust and repeat job orders.
Good news: We just extended recently our area to our new clients in Wenham, Boxford, Beverly, Georgetown, Haverhill and now in Salem! For appartment owners, before turning over your vacant units to tenants please allow us to do the final touch first.
We can do: One time, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly.
Our hotline: 978-471-9477

If an illegal immigrant wrote that ad, that's some pretty damn good English!

Anyway, that's just the first ad I found. The point is, she didn't even need to do this, when there were comparable services for the exact same, being offered by Americans. Pretty sad. She gets what she deserves.

After having a baby, the original housekeeper allegedly came back to work for Henderson, who counseled her to avoid detection by law enforcement. The housekeeper told her, according to the affidavit, that she had been living in the United States illegally for seven years after paying a man to smuggle her across the Mexican border.

"You have to be careful 'cause they will deport you. Be careful," Henderson told the housekeeper in a conversation Sept. 9, 2008, that was recorded on the wire. "Wow, wow, if you leave they won't let you back … you can't leave, don't leave … 'cause once you leave you will never be back."

That is just eye opening as to the hypocrisy present in the system.

Here's another article with more detail on her extent of hypocrisy.

news.yahoo.com...

She recommended one of her housekeepers to another officer who found out she was illegal. She told Henderson it was illegal for her to keep employing her services, but Henderson did anyways. Then two years later Customs authorities had the illegal housekeeper wear a wire to record conversations with Henderson.

Now even Michael Chertoff, the Homeland Security Secretary, can't seem to track down those pesky birth certificates, oops, I mean illegal aliens...

www.alipac.us...

Every few weeks for nearly four years, the Secret Service screened the IDs of employees for a Maryland cleaning company before they entered the house of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, the nation's top immigration official.

The company's owner says the workers sailed through the checks -- although some of them turned out to be illegal immigrants.

Now, owner James D. Reid finds himself in a predicament that he considers especially confounding. In October, he was fined $22,880 after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigators said he failed to check identification and work documents and fill out required I-9 verification forms for employees, five of whom he said were part of crews sent to Chertoff's home and whom ICE told him to fire because they were undocumented.

Topics: Illegal aliens working in Micahael Chertoff's home, no national security, farce, illegal, no charges, insane, Department of Homeland Insecurity.

"Our people need to know," said the Montgomery County businessman. "Our Homeland Security can't police their own home. How can they police our borders?"
