Barack Obama Denied Security Clearance

Free Republic, whose site has been taken offline, apparently by hackers, broke the story that president elect Barack Hussein Obama has been denied the very security clearance he so desperately needs to act as President. Cliff Kincaid has a summary of reasons why Obama might have been denied security clearance. The list is impressive, and I wish I and more Americans had seen it before the election. Since Free Republic is down, I'm going to mirror the content of the article here. It's disturbing that we have a man walking to the white house who the DOD doesn't trust with a security clearance. He's already lost the confidence, trust and cooperation of the very people under his command, and he hasn't even taken office yet. Dark times are ahead for America and I fear this may be the twilight of American greatness.

How can the President of the United States be denied a basic security clearance? How can the Commander and Chief of the most powerful military be denied access to classified information? Barack Obama would be denied the necessary security clearance for President if he was held to the same standard as everyone else. If you can’t pass a Secret level background investigation, which is required for many soldiers, you should not be eligible for the Presidency.

Just because someone with access to the internets wrote something on a blog they made, doesn't mean it's true.

I don't see that exact post on freerepublic.com, but there are several discussing the possibility that he won't qualify for a security clearance. This blog seems to indicate this as something that has already happened, but I don't think that's the case. I certainly haven't seen any proof that he was denied clearance...that would be big news.

In my honest opinion, I don't even think it would get out. Would you want to be the one to tell America that he is not qualified for the job? I sure as hell wouldn't. Besides, If he really didn't pass the "security clearance" and was not able to be president, they would just go back and say that they found his real birth certificate!

So, who exactly is it who decides whether or not the POTUS is given proper security clearances? Maybe the better question is, should we trust these people over the President-Elect? And why should we trust an utterly ignorant and totally degenerate website like the one you provided in the OP?

There is of course the possibility my opinion may be unwelcome, but I have some reservations about electing someone who can't get a security clearance. But of course, in true unpatriotic fashion, Congress would simply 'rubber stamp' some kind of contrivance to obliviate another check and balance of our staggering republic.

I did not claim anything about Bill Ayers....
All you did was just point to snopes in which that asked if Obama would be denied security clearance becuase of association with ayers.
The response was no.

Even assuming it was true. I find it more worrisome that the DoD has its own agenda more worrying than vice-versa. To each his own.

Well I would think that he has been investigated time and time again when he decided to run for the office of the presidency, Im currently involved in a hiring process that requires an extensive background check and I have already been asked so many questions prior to the security background check portion of the process to ensure I can get a clearance, I held a clearance while I was on active duty and have not done anything bad since but the investigations my future employers(hopefully) are doing is crazy so if they are super thorough then Im sure they have went over his life with a fine tooth comb a few times or at least I hope so...

This seems more like opinion than anything else.

If he is 'running the country' without the necessary security clearance, he is not really running the country. The military will be running the country.

We have long known that the POTUS is more of a figurehead than we'd like to believe, but until now he has at least been Commander in Chief and the most powerful man in the world.

Until now there has only been speculation that there are compartments of 'Top Secret' that the POTUS is not cleared for. But now he will not even have the basic info he needs for everyday government.

What will happen when he is deliberately kept uninformed of everything he needs to know to make decisions. Who then will make the decisions?

The military will be running the country.

The president will not need to implement martial law. Martial law will implement itself.

I realize this info has not been corroborated but it is very frightening to think of the massive implications of this, if it is true.

I'd say SNOPES needs to tighten its report up. These credentials are not 'trivial'.

I got a security clearance ... it was no joking matter; and I agree that such an issue should have surfaced MUCH sooner. If ANY of these reported concerns are true, he CAN'T qualify for a clearance. Suddenly he's too 'special'? We need to make a special rule so he can be trusted with information and access?

Either way this turns out, true or not; a President MUST 'clear' (pun intended) this hurdle just as every other has done before him (presumably). This isn't kindergarten. We are not 'sharing' here, this is our NATION. Why should the rules be different for Mr. Obama than anyone else?

I genuinely hope and pray you are right. I would love to see the U.S. turn around, I would love to see us go into a period of unprecedented prosperity. I pray that we find a way to have peace with all of the nations who hate us. I would love for Obama to accomplish some real successes, both at home and in foreign relations, and go down in history as one of the greatest presidents who ever lived. Especially I would love to see him have a successful presidency and see the black people of America having a new hero and example to look up to. I hope that Obama unites the races, drawing Americans closer as a community without prejudice. I am certainly proud of the fact that America has come to a point where we can elect a black president, even if I oppose his ideology and I did not vote for him. (If he was a conservative I would have.)

I would love to see all that happen.

However, I don't believe it will happen. I think that the rising power of the Illuminati has gone too far to be stopped and no matter how good Obama's intentions might be, he is not going to be able to fix what is happening. I think he is naive and idealistic (even if I disagree with his ideology I do not ascribe evil motives to him). I believe not that he intends any harm; instead I believe he is only a pawn for powers he cannot understand.

The idea that they might now choose not to brief him on matters of national security just reinforces that the Illuminati - and not the POTUS, whoever he might be - are running the show.

Again I hope the security clearance thing is not true. It would be a disaster.

This is a non-story if not an outright hoax.

There is no such article on Free Republic anywhere I can find.

The last article that mentions his attaining (or not) a security clearance was over a month ago and it was indeed the points Snopes was refuting.

What a cheap publicity stunt, that's all it is. The ass clown we still have in office was a drug addict and an alcoholic, then he found god and blah blah blah. I'm ok with Obama taking drugs in his past and no problem if he hangs with domestic terrorists. There may be one or two folks on this site that are slightly anti govt for hundreds of different reasons.

People are making a very basic mistake of comparing trying to get a job for someone as opposed to an official elected to do a job.

Obama would be hard pressed to get above a secret clearance within the government if he was applying for a position that needed that level.

As an elected senator and now president, he has already been hired by the people and the rest is now just history. The clearances and every other condition of the position of President of the US is automatically granted.

You mean my husband has a higher Security Clearance than Obama??
