I believe you miss the point. The pulpit in America, has always been a place from which the moral leaders could point a finger at the failings of the government. If a minister sees something he or she feels is morally wrong taking place in the government, then there is an obligation to point it out, to make his congregation and community aware of it, and, if possible, make sure the wrongdoing is stopped.
I know that someone will try to make the arguement that no one has a right to point out moral wrongs, based on relativism. But, like it or not, this country was founded, in large part, on the moral teachings of The Bible, and our laws are based on the Moral teachings of the Bible. We don't stone people for moral infractions, but we have the right to point these infractions out. We have the right to hold our leaders to a higher standard.
You don't think we are drifting toward National Socialism? Look at the man we elected President. How long before he establishes a national police force? How long before you have to show papers in order to travel? I welcome the Billy Grahams, the Billy Sundays of this world. I may not agree with them, but without them, our society would crumble and fall into such a state of anarchy that no one can imagine.
We need to listen to the Quote of the original poster. If we don't listen now, we may wish we had listened later.

While I respect this German youth for his forsightedness.... But, the American Indians have said this about their Hitleresque European Christian murderers from day one!

In American history, there has been a whole lotta Christians hiding behind their Bible & loosing faith. In otherwords... they were the bad guy's with Bibles in their hands and cultural annihilation in their hearts.

This ain't nothin new my friends, this guy's 200 years too late.

Nef, living conditions and racial awareness are you serious, there is as much racial hatred around today as there has ever been and if you have not noticed living conditions for many in the US are deteriorating very quickly. It is that instability and unfairness that extremist views are tolerated and manifest into something far worse.

Civilised societies are just one step away from savagery and have been for a long time. No amount of technology or modern living can remove centuries of hate, fear, ignorance and bigotry. Wars do not happen by chance, they are well planned and thought out. The ongoing events in the US are not a bunch of random events with no connection. And it would be foolish in the extreme to assume that what befell Germany and many other nations could not happen in the US.

It is that ideology and belief that allows such events to occur, that we the good guys fighting on the right side could ever get into that situation. Well it has and it is. The US right now is waging illegal wars in which millions have died, it has shown a complete disregard for human life. At home the US now has all the pieces in place to turn the nation into a fascist state again that is not idle opinion it is a fact.

Holy cow batman.... Listened to the video in your link and I was absolutely blown away. I'm still in too much shock to come up with an adequate description of their plans. And people here said it wasn't what he meant. Yeah sure it's not.

Back on topic, reading through the thread it seems that a lot of posters are ignoring his message and are getting caught up on the religion aspect. I'm not Christian, I'm not even religious. But I can even see the guys point. We are heading down a very bad path, and personally I'd rather we stop and get directions before we fall off the cliff.

So, should we just do away with the Bill of Rights entirely then, and set up a new form of government based solely on the Bible? Should we do away with due process, and just start publicly stoning people for even the smallest of infractions? Should we do away with the Geneva Conventions, and just go back to killing the men and children of those who oppose our religious beliefs then rape their unsullied women?

Who were the bystanders during all the crusades, inquisitians, witch hunts,
and practically every war that's been waged since the rise of Christianity? I can assure it wasn't the "turn the other cheek so I can have a good shot at your jugular" Christians...

Set up a Religious Government in the US & I'll never talk to another yank again..lol

I can see it now, Dark ages all over again, Persecution, Witch Burnings, Death to all who live in sin with their lovers, Gay Persecution, all sorts of bad stuff will happen.

A religous Government will be worse than a Communist or Nazi Government.

Ironclad, that is exactly what is waiting in the wings and more besides. The sad thing is you have those who want it, those who cannot believe it and those who wont believe it.

Theres a whole lot of right-wing scaremongering going on at the moment, and its sad to see it. Personally I believe that this is just another example.

I'm sorry, I have to agree with several of the posters above your post. We are getting closer and closer to what Germany was in the 1930's. I don't think right-wing or left-wing scaremongering(yes, both sides do it, not just the right) have anything to do with it. What else could you call the Patriot Act? It is SO similar to what Hitler instituted. The Supreme Court ruling strengthening the reasons to justify Eminent domain moves by governments here in the US is another parallel. The surveillance society that has developed here smells of Gestapo tactics. Everywhere you look, Americans have lost rights. Yes, Bush and Congress moved this along, but it looks like Obama will continue the move to a fascist state. Soon, he will whittle away at the 2nd ammendment, by his own words, establish a "civilian security force", another tactic used by Hitler in the thirties. People seem to get their dander up if you use Hitler as a comparison, but what ELSE would you call it when so many of the parallels apply? One person didn't do this, but the PTB, whoever they are, certainly are pushing the country in the direction of a fascist state. The Democratic platform stated that they wished to eliminate the secret ballot for union votes. Don't you think that is another sacrifice of freedom, and an attempt to intimidate people? I could go on, but most ATS members know as well as I do, how many of these measures have taken us closer and closer to a fascist state. Let's call it what it is. Fascism, if it isn't here in full blown force already, is certainly at the doorsteps.

I stated in my post that people DO use religion as an excuse, but that does not mean that the religion is to blame. It is those people who have misinterpreted religion, or twisted it to justify horrible acts, just as Hitler justified his acts, by saying that he was carrying out God's will, to cleanse the German "race". Saying it is God's will, doesn't make it God's will. Don't blame religion for these atrocities (and they were atrocities), blame the people who falsely hid behind their religion. Quite bluntly, I don't buy the argument that all wars are the result of religion. That is rubbish. People start wars, for greed, for power, for envy, and they may use religion, but show me where, as far as Christianity goes, it says in the New Testament, that Christ said to wage war, or pick up arms, and kill people. He never did, and if people claim Christianity is the reason, they are speaking falsehoods.

If you think socializing health care is like being under Hitler... don't move to Canada or the UK.

Unbelievable.

Well... I'm waiting. Where is Obama's "Mein Kampf"?

After all this time this person is still working for Der Fuhrer. Clearly the mindwashing suggestions received in youth were taken in perpetuity to continue the Reich's efforts. So much misunderstanding or warping of things is evident.

you know...when i was in high school, it was a requirement for graduation to do 20 hours of community service, that was back in the 60's. my son who graduated in 2004, also had to do 20 hours of community service as a requirement for his diploma.

i watched the video and the words were not used "mandatory service for all young adults into a civilian force" and if it was good enough for me, forty years ago, and good enough for my son...why all of a sudden is it "THE HITLER YOUTH " ? c'mon, you guys don't think obama or the congress or any of the states, or the people of this country would go along with a bunch of uniformed, boot-jacked, youth? do you?....geez guys get a grip and try and read something other then WORLD NET DAILY.

People see what they want to see. Some people need to quit smoking so much funny stuff, some need to leave their basements, and some need to stop watching so many YouTube conspiracy propaganda videos without fact checking a bit.

1. Hitler was a Fascist. That is extreme right wing, not semi-right wing "liberal" like Obama.

2. Germany was a Christian country. That was one reason it was so easy to whip them up against the Jews. Christians were often convinced in the past that Jews were responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus, and were eager for revenge.

3. Hitler wanted to conquer Europe. One of the criticisms people leveled at Obama is that he seems reluctant to continue Bush's policy of invading other countries.

4. America's "Reichstag" occurred 7 years ago. I doubt Obama was responsible.

Obama Says He Would Take Fight To Pakistan

By Dan Balz
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, August 2, 2007; Page A01

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama issued a pointed warning yesterday to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, saying that as president he would be prepared to order U.S. troops into that country unilaterally if it failed to act on its own against Islamic extremists.

Since that time, he has reinforced that statement many times.

Obama Pakistan comment prompts local protest
October 9, 2008 at 5:52 PM

A group of Pakistani-Americans and anti-war activists delivered a letter today to the Chicago office of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, calling on him to cool political rhetoric about bombing targets in Pakistan.
"We are particularly concerned with your public pronouncements earlier this week in support of violating the borders of our ally, the country of Pakistan...," the letter says. "You must understand the sweeping dismay that your avowed support for U.S. military incursions into Pakistan ... has elicited among untold numbers of Pakistani-Americans and peace activists across the country."

Wow, been over that. It was a youth fraternity that was mimicking it's older fraternity that does stomping exactly the same way (and in army fatigues).

The teacher was reprimanded and there's really nothing else to the story. Jesus.

What is your point?
