Funny thing you should mention that which brings up another point. Which countries in the world have had/have the worst cases of starvation? The ones with more government control or less government control?

Example:

Communist Russia

Communist China

Communist Cuba

Socialist India

vs

USA

Canada

Australia

UK

They can disobey their own laws and get away with it,

second line

I guess they'll just pull the ol' "Well Moses broke the law, literally" line to justify that.

Complicate and screw up anything they get their fingers in.

And deny any kind of responsibility for anything, unless it makes them look good; in which case, it probably means they're not responsible for it anyway.

And withhold the truth from the people they profess to serve.

And... well you get the idea.

every time private business gets involved everything gets screwed up, they cut corners provide less services for more money time and time again the biggest loser is the average person

these companies make record profits by squeezing the little guy and then turn around and tell us they need to cut jobs so some CEO's grosssly fat bink of a wife can go on a world tour when there are families out there struggling to put food on the table.

yes i know what those areas are like i grew up in one, and i assure you i probably know more about the problems of unemployment than yourself considering i work in a government funded organisation that helps people break down the barriers of unemployment and find them jobs.

Well government can throw all the money, manpower, and legislation to a problem and still never even help a problem. Way more often than not, they make it worse. Example why are public schools continually getting worse and private schools continually better?

private businesses dont exactly hold the monopoly on fixing problems either...

Now when you say the busses are now privatized, is there more than one bus company? In other words, is there competition?

yes there are more than one and they all suck

Get the gov completely out, and competing businesses in

government is out competing businesses are in and were still being over charged no matter who we goto.

Again get the government funding out, and competing businesses in and costs will go down and quality will improve

the private business wont do it if the tax payer doesnt pay for it, how else are they expected to feed their bloated bottom line.

Let me ask you a question. Would you rather be taxed your whole life for those roads or would you rather pay a small fee for just when you use them?

if the government just built them we wouldnt have either.

Really? Interesting perspective. How well does government do things? How careful are they with your money? Why is it whenever government gets involved prices go up and quality goes down?

Remember without customers, businesses cannot exist. It is in their best interest to not only keep customers but to add more of them.

Why do you care what somebody else makes? Should the government steal from them to give to you? Maybe I should get them to steal from you to give to me because I think you are making too much money.

Businesses are owned by people. What they do with that business is their choice. Not some hypocritical union. Remember without businesses there are no jobs. Plus whats wrong with having to change jobs? I know this may come as a surpise to alot of folks but there is no law that guarantees your employment for life at one job.

Well then you should know how people get out of poverty, and it is not more handouts. It is when these people make the decision to take some self responsibility, clean themselves up, and get a job. Oh yeah, and who supplies those jobs? Businesses.

When you cut off their reliance on handouts, they are forced to fend for themselves.

They sure as hell do alot better job. And if they don't do a good job, people can fire them.

yes there are more than one and they all suck

Compared to what?

government is out competing businesses are in and were still being over charged no matter who we goto.

Over charged by whose standards? I am guessing now government isn't subsidizing it any more so now you are actually paying the real market price. But now you won't be taxed on paying for the buses.(or shouldn't be anyways)

the private business wont do it if the tax payer doesnt pay for it, how else are they expected to feed their bloated bottom line.

By charging customers the real market price for a bus ticket.

if the government just built them we wouldnt have either.

You wouldn't have taxes? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you are of the mind that government can and should do everything for their population. I would urge you to watch the videos I posted in the OP and let me know what you think.

In the US, the government, as much as we may complain about it, is a function of the electorate. There is a definite need for both the public and the private sectors and as slippery a concept as that may be, we do need to maintain both.

Someone said that government is good at regulating and that is as good a reason to maintain one as any.

I am inclined to believe that there are functions that are best rendered when they under the control of the people and our elected representatives.

The OP named several of these himself.

I can't real post it here but these are the initials B.S. they are way better at it than the private sector. Govt. have had experience with it for the past 10,000 years while the private sector is new if you consider the amount of time govt. has been around.
