"This Post" doesn't work on BTS (with Safari)

At the top of every post we have a "this post" option which enables os to identify each post with its url id/number. This is a very helpful tool.

However it doesn't seem to work on BTS. When you click on it, it just takes you to the top of the page and does not single out the specific post.

It works. Just make sure that there's no apostrophe at the end of the url. If you i.e. enter a thread via MyATS, there's often an apostrophe at the end of the link. Like this: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread404103/pg1'

Remove the apostrophe, refresh the page, and then I bet that the "this post" link will work again.

Hi H, I think you misunderstood what I meant.
Go to a BTS thread and find any random post at the bottom of any thread page.
When you click on its "this post" it doesn't identify the post, it identifies the page. As a result one can't link any specific post from/on BTS.

Do that make sense?

Here's the last post on page 65 in the photo thread on bts. Link works for me.

Link ("this post")

Ok, when I just clicked on that link you just posted, it took me to the top of page 65 and not the post you designated.

It took me to this url: www.belowtopsecret.com...

That was strange. That doesn't happen to me. I suspect that you're using the NoScript plugin for Firefox (or something similar) and forgot to allow BTS to use scripts. Am I right?

I'm using Safari on a Intel Mac.
It is really strange because it works for me on ATS and not BTS.
Obviously my settings are the same in both boards.
It's not a massive deal but it is head scratcher.

Ok, I tried the same thing using Firefox and it works.
For some reason Safari doesn't like BTS.

Thanks for your help Helmutt.
You may close the thread if you so wish.

The link works for me with Firefox as well as Internet Explorer. I'm glad it worked for you in Firefox. There's no need to close this thread.

Used to get that problem with the reply function on both boards, although it didn't happen all the time.

It's that darned apostrophe
