Movies to cry by:
Finding Neverland and Somewhere In Time.

I can't even think about these movies with out crying..... going to wipe my eyes now.

Ok, I'm better now.
Favourite directors include
Ron Howard: Davinci Code and The Missing and almost eveything else he's directed.
Ridley Scott: Gladiator and Alexander....wow....
Martin Scorsese: I forget but I know I like him. Oh yeah and the Japanese director who did "Face Off" and "MI2". I like his bird motif.

Favourite Actors:
Gary Oldman: Bram Stoker's Dracula and Immortal Beloved (sigh)
George Clooney
Tom Hanks
Sean Connery ( The Wind and the Lion....come on! An Arab with a Scottish brogue and I totally ate it up!.....sigh)
I know there's more but I have to go back to work now.......with red eyes
from thinking about those two movies!

Well, here goes.

While there are many movies I've watched that I find rewarding, off the top of my head are:

DRAMA: Amistad

ACTION/ADVENTURE: To live or die in L.A.

MILITARY: Band of Brothers (the mini-series)

COMEDY: Friday

ROMANTIC: Officer and a Gentleman

HORROR: The Excorcist

SCIENCE-FICTION: Blade runner

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Men of Honor, 2001 Space Odessey, Hamburger Hill, Animal House, Steel Magnolias (I watched it with my ex. and it was good) Close Encounters of a Third Kind.

There are so many great movies, it's almost impossible to say what's my favorite. To tell the truth, Band of Brothers is my all-time favorite.

DRAMA Reds

ACTION/ADVENTURE Apocalypse Now

MILITARY Saving Private Ryan

COMEDY Blazing Saddles

ROMANTIC Annie hall

HORROR Alien

SCIENCE FICTION 2001: A Space Odyssey

I would add:

Ran by Ario Kirosawa... this remake of King Lear is simply stunning
Koyaanisqatsi... Life out of Balance in Hopi... no plot, no words stunning images and
music by Philip Glass
The Truman Show... still eerie fortelling of the whole "reality TV" bullhooey
Forrest Gump... I didn't wanna like it and came to love this film
Dr. Strangelove... no other film drives home the whole madness of the cold war
The Day the Earth Stood Still... not the remake
Nosferatu... possibly the most frightening vampire of them all
Metropolis... they did this in 1927?
Wizards... Ralph Backshi at his best
The Princess Bride... A lovely sweet film
Repoman... Ron Howards first film great punk soundtrack both long out of print
Rocky Horror Picture Show... lets do the time warp again
The King of Hearts... a sweet film about the madness of war
Being There... Peter Seller's last and his masterpiece
Dreams by Ario Kirosawa... sometimes tedious but worth the Van Gogh sequence
Blade Runner... I do not want that future
The Unbearable lightness of Being... a gentle film that ends sadly.

How could I forget Casablanca? Possibly the best film to ever come out of the studio system.
