I am not sure if this has been noted or not but I just noticed that the ABOVETOPSECRET.COM banner that appears on the left and right hand sides of the website has a misspelling in it.

"The most popular site for Alternatice Topics discussion". Notice anything odd?

"Alternatice" is actually spelt "Alternative"

Sorry, I know it doesn't mean all that much in the grand scheme of things but I am terribly picky about my own spelling and that stands out like a neon light to me

(If I am wrong please rap me across the knuckles I have never seen nor heard of the word Alternatice except when it is a typo).

Wat? They're speeling is prefect. Just becase they don't get some word's right don't effect the hole website.

LMAO I know I know, I'm a prude when it comes to spelling. My mother used to sit me down after school every afternoon and drill English into my head. I honestly do not think there is a word I cannot spell because of this

I was going to send the amigo's a U2U but I then decided against it in favour of them looking at this thread in their own time. I figured they must have enough U2U's to deal with and it may just get lost in the mix!

Its better this way. it give's us a chance to get some digs in.

I was just looking at the "sneak Peek" at the new site design. yep, the misspelling is still there. (chuckle)

Probably could do with a spell checker on here...I certainly would benefit from it

I use Firefox 3 myself. It's got a built in spell checker that works on this site. I've had well meaning friends refer to my spelling as "creative" (chuckle)
Saved myself a lot of anguish let me tell you.

From what I understand they've now fixed the problem with the banner misspelling. I however, have downloaded the "sneak peek" jpeg located here for future Blackmail..... I mean Archive purposes. It still has the error. It's nice to know that even here errors can be made. Makes the place seem more human after all eh? (chuckle)

I use the "Alert" button when I see a problem and I see this every time I contact the Mods.

At least for basic functions of the board we could have errors like this corrected.
I think it's only Canada that uses this pronunciation, but the spelling is still wrong no matter where you're from.

Hit "Alert" and see for yourself. It is spelled "aboout".

I just took a look at the new site and noticed something. Everything at the top of the page "tinwiki", "atsmix", etc is all in small letters shouldn't they be capitalized? especially Tinwiki?

Please don't look too hard for spelling mistakes.

Sometimes our owners get English spelling and reptilian spelling mixed up.

Awwwww, but that's no fun!

It gives me a break from "The world is doomed/to be reborn on such and such a date/to be uplifted/invaded/etc." threads. I sorta view it as an Easter Egg hunt without the nasty surprise of finding one 3 weeks past it's prime.

I don't even know what it's called, but when I type in Firefox it puts that little red squiggle line under a mistake and all I do is click the word and select the correct spelling.

It works for me, give it a try.
