Might as well move those armored units away from population centers in Syria. The closer they are to Israel the safer they are. The fallout from DU munitions is less of a hazard.
The Russian ships in the area seem to be supplying logistical support. Maybe they intercepted messages of a possible strike on Iran.
Also DU munitions provide a huge advantage when used at a distance compared to conventional ammo. If all you have is conventional artillery, you would want to get as close as possible to your adversary. If a battle starts you would want to advance on their position, rather than pull back. At point blank range DU is less advantageous. You go back to more of a numbers game. How many rounds can you fire as opposed to the other combatant.

The problem I have with Israel is that it hasn't fought very smart lately. The only reason Syria would dare fire up their tanks is because the Israeli's haven't convinced them yet to leave Israel alone.

If Syria opens the ball, then Israel should rain down such destruction on Syria and its cities as to burn in a thorough fear about contesting Israel again. Israel should burn such a fear into their bowels as so another attack by Syria, or its puppets will not occur for another generation or two.

And Israel should ban all news reports during any conflict. The last go-around with Hizballah shooting rockets was that news reporters were telling how many miles/meters the rockets hit from X. This was the next best thing to having a forward observer adjusting fire. This was beyond stupid. Further, news reporters were filming troops heading out, numbers, weapons, armor, and all Hizballa had to do was watch news reports to tell when an attack was coming, from what location, and how large an attack was. Geez!

Israel better take advantage, and get that Syrian monkey off their back, once and for all. If they don't, their blood and their children's blood be on their own heads.

Whatever they do, they will be condemned for it. Best to go for broke because it's not like they get extra credit for withholding the full weight of their forces! And when they get them on the run, they should run them down and kill them.

War is serious business, and the more ruthless you are, the fewer the future wars, the fewer future deaths.

As for the Russian ships in Syrian ports, and all the support, is it possible theyre pushing Syria to do smething in retalliation for the Israeli support of Georgia. I don't actually think this is the case, but I couldn't help but wonder about it since Russia and Israel aren't exactly on the best of terms now (not that they ever are, though)

I honestly thinking you're underestimating Israel. Remember the 1967 War? Israel destroyed not one or two, but three militaries in only six days. Syria, Jordan, and Egypt=Fail

Israel is like that kid who grew up in a tough neighborhood but lived because he was tougher.

Arab nations have learnt their lesson since than.Israel dealt with 3 millitaries in 1967 and now israel is in a state where it can't even get rid of millitant groups like hezbollah and Hamas who are raised, armed and trained to fight right under it's nose.

Hamas made its own government and hezbollah fought israel for weeks crippling their 'mighty' myth. And these are just little millitant resistances groups that have given israel a bloody nose.A millitary conflict with Iran,Syria and Lebanon supported by Russia and China = israel doomed (even if US decides to join in).

Naw, that isn't true. The moment Israel really, really wants to root out Hizballah, there will be a serious house cleaning.

Let Hizballah try it again. New leader. New leader tends to turn the dogs loose, not keep them on a short leash.
