contact, with jodie foster
obviously the book was far better, but not a bad attempt...
by the great carl sagan, get your own copy today, kids, on amazon or ebay or countless other used booksellers out there...
read, read, read...
now if only they can make an effective screenplay of robert forwards "dragon's egg"?
that would be a challenge!

well, it really wasnt a space travel movie, more of a great fairy-tale in a sort of space-sci-fi-ish setting...

I just realized I mixed up solaris and sunshine. I ment to say Sunshine and I have never actually seen solaris.

Top thread! Didn't see Apollo 13 (skipped a few pages tho!)
I have to add, regarding Solaris.. I thought it was a great film. It entertained me somewhat trying to figure out what actually happened near the end,
although I didn't settle on a definite, I liked that I could put a few different interpretations to fit the film.
I can see why some would not like it at all.. But IMO, if you like psychological films, you'll like Solaris.

Thats your opinion ofcourse, I thought it was an excellent film - if you enjoy that kind of film, as a previous poster stated, you will love it - 90%
rest of population will hate it.
Same with There will be blood - Truely one of the worst movies I'v ever seen, although it was labelled as one of the best ever.

It was a really wierd cartoon about some giant blue aliens that looked at humans as pests and some were kept as pets.
I think it was called fantastic planet.. Not to be confused with forbiddon planet, which I also love!
Fantastic Planet is a classic French sci fi animated film - one of the first of its kind...still a brilliant film even though its at least 30 years
old..,.
another great film is for ETs visiting earth is an Argentinian film called:
" The Man Facing Southeast" - This film was remade ala hollywood a few years ago and starred Kevin Spacey and is called K-Pax...
And the original Alien is one of the greatest films, let alone sci fi horror films, ever made...
Followed closely by Blade Runner -
