CHAT IS BACK! (and for a limited time, you only need 50 posts)

A new and improved chat has just been integrated into the site "chat" menu link in the board menu above. It has a decent list of new features, in addition to a resizable framework.

Also, to celebrate the new chat, members only need 50 posts to chat... this will be in place for the next 24 hours, then after that it will be raised to a 150 post minimum.

yes, i just chatted,it felt like prostitution except i got no satisfaction.....doesnt appeal to me...but that doesnt mean i wont pop in time to time...Thankyou mr moderator for getting it working etc.

Why are we stuck with this client? Why won't you just set up an IRC server like everyone else?

Oh, this chat is better than none, of course. But it's using some obscure chat system that forces you to use the built-in client. You could reduce server load and make the chat system way easier to use if you made it IRC. Plus people could use their own chat clients, meaning that the chat will actually be populated. Moderation will be far easier and the whole framework will be more dynamic. And you can continue to enforce the minimum post limit by pre-registering nicks with a password.
