Sex,How important?

Sex,the most natural of things on this earth.But as humans grow farther away from our roots of animalstic tendencies and urges,how important is it to you? Does it only influence earlier prospering realtionships? or does it encompass long term ones also? Is it a need or a pleasure.Is it a vital part of a healthy relationship? or simply a means to gain pleasure.I want to know about what you think about Sex and if *mental* arousal,simply the fact of connecting with someone etc or physical pleasure is key to your need as a human being and your relationships. Studies usually show men feel sex is an important part of a realtionship,then again...studies also show men think about sex every 7 seconds which is false...What Male and Females think about sex?

I was married for 10 years...

after that ordeal... I don't know I think about sex more than every 7 days...

But, seriously... there are better things in life..

If you have ever heard of Olfactory Fatigue?... the same sort of thing happens with sex.. I would say from personal experience, your best off... Not Oversexing yourself...

It taks more and more to turn you on...male or female...

and a good loving relationship becomes harder to accomplish and... as you age you want companionship more than sex...


What i'm saying is...save it... as best you can, over exposure is... not a good thing...

There are probably people in here being more suited to brains over love that... would just think i'm a freak for saying that...

But, your actually lucky... when you find something, you will appreciate it more and be happier...

If I believed in God I would agree with him.
Sex is good and is there to be enjoyed, too many people have hang up's about sex.

Yes but *sex sex* two people in love...is different from a plastic object in an orifice...Im talking about relationships and how sex plays a role in them to you etc...

Curious and of course you don't need to awnser how old you are?

I am... 37 and it took me some time in life to realise that Love wa sfar more vital than sex...

You know...I always had this feeling that... it was my last few years lol... better drink in as much as I can...

and the odd thing is...

at 37...I'm still out, I look like i'm in my 20's at worst lol and... I have the money to do things I want now...

and ..I wish, I had done less growing up... that there was more new for me...

but that's okay...because it killed the horndog in me and lol... don't get me wrong I enjoy... but perhaps... "excess does lead to wisdom"


If your very young... know that, you have your head screwed on okay and don't let people tell you otherwise...

In love... you should be able to... not even have sex and be happy...

Honestly I studied tantra and grew up in Ny and...g-d I have done way too much in my life...

and it's all bs... I have regrets is all I am saying... not emo slash my wrist regrets lol...

There's just nothing at the end of that road.. nothing at all... In the end you have to be friends...care about the person more than you care about yourself...

and... if it's love and they lost the ability lets say... it shouldn't matter at all...

Shallow? No. I am a woman with desires and emotions and sex with the husband is something that gives me life....I'm not a sex addict or a fiend, but i do find it necessary to make me happy. Its that bonding that i need call me crazy but i do need it like once a week or even two weeks.

If i wanted a room mate. i'd get someone who's a lot of fun and who has not many faults and gets along all the time, bla bla bla.....

I dont wash dirty underwear and pants and shirts, cook and clean for nothing.

The only reason i'm posting here is because we just had a little discussion.

i think its pretty important to a healthy relationship.

i personally find the mind more stimulating then the persons action in that department. o.k o.k....not by alot more though

Same age as you..and I stand by what I said.I'm better off alone.

It's cleshe I know but I have to be in love with the person as I see sex as a form of communication. This of course means that when you run out of things to talk about the sex starts becoming boring and you might start looking for someone new to talk to.

I find it to be the #1 distraction, above all others. I wouldn't say it's overrated or anything, but it's most certainly given more attention and taboo than necessary.

Seems like sex and relationships are just as complicated as politics most of the time. Although enjoyable, I could think of so many more things that I could spend time doing, and other addictions to deal with.

As for importance, I would say it's pretty damn important within the context of propagating the species. Aside from that, it's about as important as an iPhone.

Sex... it's what we live for innit.

Don't know about you, but most of the things worth doing that I've done in my life I've done purely to get laid.

I agree with Uncle Ziggy: 'money, fame and the love of women'. As I've said somewhere else on this board, you can keep the money. Just give me the fame and the women.

As far as sex is concerned, I find my views a little weird. I like the idea of it, but when it comes to the real thing, it disgusts me. I could never actually have sex, so if I'm in a relationship, sex wouldn't be important at all. A little cuddling is all I need to keep me happy, nothing more.

i was wondering if anyone would have sex with an alien chick? but it would have to be one of the ones from that movie the thing. but it would still look like a hot chick

The sex is very important, at least in a couple. It is the big problem in mine, because I always liked the sex and my friend not. It has been 17 years since it last, I have make big efforts of abstinence but it is difficult. The feelings are important but without sex çà cannot work. My couple degrades partially because of it, and then the sex it is GOOD!!!!!!

In my house we have a saying: Get in all fours like a dog, or sleep outside with the dogs. Either way your going to have to be like a dog tonight. It truly is a win-win situation

I think this about sums it up:

When Sex is great, it's about 10% of the relationship.

When Sex is bad, it's about 90% of the relationship.
