Just because one candidate wants to operate in a more socialistic style doesn't mean he wants to destroy the constructs of our country. And insinuating such is lying for the benefit of scaring others into thinking/acting your way.

This is my first post here after reading many of these comments for awhile. While this may be somewhat off topic I want the oppurtunity to address the above quote.

whether or not a candidate "wants" to destroy our countries construct is irrelevent when he chooses to run the country in a more "socialistic" style. The results will be the same, i.e. total anihlation of the above said construct ...heres why

This wonderful country was based on (at least at some point in our early history) an persons individual rights. The constitution comes to mind here as a method the founding fathers chose to limit the powers of our government not to endorse those powers and to preserve the powers of the individual against that government. When you compromise a capitalist system with a system which leans more towards socialism you compromise an individual right for the "right" of the masses, thereby leaving the individual as little more than a sacrificial animal to the whims of "society". That sort of society cannot be misconstrued as a free society while it imply's taking from man according to his ability and giving the the man "neighbor" according to his need.

Barack, in Germany, was recently quoted as saying we need to take the money from free trade and free markets and more equitably distribute it. (not verbatim, sorry) If this doesn't alarm anybody including a man of a more impeachible character such as John Voigt than I must say this is a very GRAVE day/time for our country and I believe if such a thing were possible our founding fathers would be rolling in their graves.

What we need isnt more government i,e, socialism, but less. They need to stay out of the way of those willing and able to produce for our standard which is better known as the American Capitalist standard. THAT is the only standard throughout the history of mankinds blood-shed and turmoil that has given us all the right to post on a forum such as this one and enjoy one of the remaining semi-free places on earth(America). Preserving individual rights isn't a priviledge which can be compromised by a politician. It is an INDIVIDUAL RIGHT. Socialism has proven one thing throughout history(and history will back me on this); It has proven that the individual must compromise his/her rights for that of society. Think about it, compromising one persons right for that of another isn't only immoral but stands against all this country was founded on...In other words, our constitution.

I want this to be clear...any code other than that code of individual rights and government limitations as set forth in the constitution DOES compromise the constructs on which this country has been built. And take it to the bank....this does not mean I am "scaring others into thinking my way." i am mearly pointing to the flaw which is concerning not only John voight but many individuals in this country who use the one thing God gave them that seperates them from the animals. The power of thought to logical conclusions.

Great thread, bravo. I have always thought Jon Voight was a wonderful actor, now he can not only act but he can think too. He seems like a well educated man, I am sure he is not well liked in hollywood and pretty sure this is why his daughter doesnt want to have much to do with him.

Hrmmm... did you see my post back on page 2 of this thread? I thought I had already removed any doubt that John Voigt did not show any prowess of thought in this rant of his.

What is amazing is the fact that anyone here of all places, thinks that whomever is president will matter. The puppet masters are still behind the curtain and will remain there for a long time. And I'm not jumping into an NWO is coming thought pattern. When Hoover gave the NSA the power they have today he screwed up in a big way. Now between the CIA and the rest of the alphabet soup boys, anything can and does happen (as a matter of national security) and the voting public has exactly ZERO it can do about it. So vote or don't vote, whatever. But please don't think that Obama is going to have anymore power than he has right now. Or McCain for that matter. IMHO

Excellent post - no one is listening a usual...illusions are so much more entertaining than the truth...McCain or Obama change anything? Please....
Grow up... Jon Voight babbling about marxists or Sean Penn setting out in a row boat to save the world...they would fit right in here at ATS...
Come on Willie... praise God and pass the amunition...

HAHA.. I find all of you "it doesnt matter" people so funny.

Did it matter with GB got elected? Does anyone really think that the last 8 years would have been the same had Gore been elected? (Oh wait, he was...)

Seriously though. I'm glad you are keeping your butts at home in November.

Oh it definitely matters what WE do....in fact it is because the puppet masters have caught wind of the mood of the people, the rumblings of the giant awakening that Obama has come this far...but its important to act without the rose colored glasses...Obama has to play the game and it foolish to think otherwise...okay - I'll give him a "wait and see" and pray he can stay a step or two ahead his handlers...but keep in mind who his campaign brain is - Zbigniew Kazimierz Brzezinski read up on this guy - He is a major behind the scenes player - a Bilderburger - CFR - you name it he's been in on it - now I'm not implying he's not on the side of "we the people" - I'm coming right out and saying it - as the good book says - be harmless as a dove but wise as a serpent -

And Gore??? come on...!! He could have backed that election fiasco right up to the steps of Pennsylvania Avenue with America at his back but he chose to step down without a fight for what? The "good of the country and the "process"? And WE allowed it ...I call BS on that...So yes - I agree with you - its VERY important what WE do ...but lets do it with our eyes open...
