Computer savvy???

Just been told by my son in law...who is an IT consultant...that this site is a government sposored site...He didn't say which government ...

Just that it was a government sponsored site...

Now the internet is still very new to me...only just got used tp computers!!

So my question ...is this site government sponsored???

My son in law reallly knows about the internet...He is a consultant ..in IT...?

If this site had anything to do with any Govt, let alone run and administered by them it would probably crash on a daily basis, all your login details would be lost, and reappear on another site that you hadn't subscribed to.
So, as it functions extremely well, it is not a Govt sponsored site.

Being an IT consultant doesn't necessarily mean a person knows the ownership or what goes on behind the scenes of every or any website.

May be you should ask him for facts that support his statement.

Doesnt really matter...if the gov want to snoop on a site they will...im pretty sure ATS is on the list...nothing admins or mods can do about such things at the end of the day...i could care less though...let them sneak about...

It was my son in law who told me this...Who do I believe ??...my son in law seems like a sound lad....but he is young and dosen't really see the deceptions in life..But from what I have seen he knows what he is talking about with the net and computers!!

I introduced him to this site to open his eyes...but maybe it was me that was blind ???

Again...it doesnt matter if this site is government owned or not...if they want to get account details...track users...check out threads etc etc They can,and thats that....no point in getting worked up about it...

ATS has Ad revenue. If they pay taxes on those revenues, I guess it could be construed that ATS is Government sponsored. But, no closer than that, I think.

And I "consult" on Information Technology everytime my buddy's computer burps. Soooo...take it from an IT Consultant. You have nothing here to worry about.

OP. Just post with intellegence and cleverness and you'll know that at least YOU aren't under Government control. You aren't, are you? Can you prove it? I'm not making another post in this thread until you provide some proof, Mr. Carpenter, that YOU aren't Government controlled!

Would you mind asking your son in law just how he came to the conclusion this was a government sponsored site and also which government is supposedly sponsoring it ?

It's quite easy to do a whois to see who owns the website and then see what other sites are owned by the same person but apart from that I fail to see how could he find secret confidential info it's government sponsored
