9/11 billboard draws flak from Florida Democrats, GOP

www.cnn.com

(CNN) -- A Florida man is using billboards with an image of the burning World Trade Center to encourage votes for a Republican presidential candidate, drawing criticism for politicizing the 9/11 attacks.
Businessman Mike Meehan says he has put up three billboards such as this one around Orlando, Florida.

Businessman Mike Meehan says he has put up three billboards such as this one around Orlando, Florida.

"Please Don't Vote for a Democrat" reads the type over the picture of the twin towers after hijacked airliners hit them on September, 11, 2001.

Mike Meehan, a St. Cloud, Florida, businessman who paid to post the billboards in the Orlando area, said former President Clinton should have put a stop to Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda before 9/11. He said a Republican president would have done so.

Oh really? A Republican President would have done so?

We had a Republican President and he REFUSED to look at evidence coming at him from all angles that Al Qaeda is a THREAT!!!

Nope instead he only wanted to focus on Iraq.

Why is this world FULL of people who obviously have no clue?

Not to mention Bush is practically doing the recruiting for Al-Qaeda.
By displacing and killing family members overseas, the rest turn to the groups who can offer them revenge; terrorist organizations.

It's no wonder these terrorist groups are continuing to make threats, the longer the war goes on over there, the more people are converted to terrorism to exact revenge.

You simply can't win a war on terrorism. War breeds terrorism, it doesn't end it.

But of course, this is what we've been saying all along, and I don't expect anyone to start listening now... or ever.

It really doesn't matter who you put in office, there will always be people who want to do harm to your country. If not from the wars your waging now, then it's from the wars you've waged in the past. Sins of our fathers and all that.

Unfortunately, we westerners tend to be forgetful of who's lives we destroyed. We've destroyed so many... but they remember.

www.abovetopsecret.com... - This was just posted, proving there is NO different between the two presidential candidates.

Sounds like Obama wants to further wars just as much as any "Republican". How sad people still think there is a difference between the two.

There is a HUGE difference. Namely that McCain is still beholden to the PAC's and Obama isn't.

Not yet anyhow.

Shame on you for trying to dupe people into thinking there is no difference.

Bill Clinton and the CIA had plans to assasinate Bin Laden, but he was at the end of his term in office. When Bush took over the White House Clinton had him fully briefed on the threat Al Quaeda posed to the U.S. Bush did not act on the information. Not until 9/11.

The U.S. was too slow in responding to Al Quaeda. It was the fault of both the Democrats and the Republicans.

It is unreasonable to blame either party alone for what happened. But reason does not always prevail in an election year.

No attacks on American soil since 9/11/01.

Sounds like somebody gets it!

Free speech is a great thing!

Reply to Sestias:

Bill Clinton had Osama bin Laden handed to him on a silver platter, he refused to do anything. He also did nothing after the World Trade Center attack in 1993, he did nothing after the USS Cole was attacked. He did nothing to battle terrorists at all. To Clinton it was just a legal problem to be handled by the courts.

Clinton's inaction led directly to the events of 9/11/01. Terrorists know they will be targeted and destroyed with a Republican in office. With a democrat in office this turns into a big question mark. If Obama wins he will be tested quickly by terrorists to see his reaction. A soft reaction will lead to bigger and more destructive acts of terrorism.

What response do we want from our President after a terror attack? Swift and devastating military justice, or justice through our judicial system?
