"anti America" lol. what makes you think that? America and the EU and Russia are governed by the same greedy people. they do not care about the people, they do not care about you or me. they just care about ONE WORLD under ONE GOVERNMENT controlled by themselves. or other evil beings

This was not a " Thread about war with Iran "

I was asking originally about the fact that the EU is now acting in it's own interests[edit on 23-6-2008 by SLAYER69]

The sanctions are because of Iran's refusal to cooperate with inspections due to suspicion of possibly becoming a country with nuclear weapons, which is a world concern (even though other countries may own nuclear weapons), so not just EU's interest.

I understand this isn't a thread about war with Iran but there are just these similarities in reasons for going to war and events leading up to it, assets frozen being one of them. Iraq might have WMD's, Iran might have nukes. Iraq had a dictator who oppressed the people, Iran is not much different, Iraq didn't comply with USA's and EU's wishes alltogether and Iran doesn't seem to cooperate well either. And both are rich in oil fields.

I cant understand france though - they have a muslim population of around 15% and are the main instigators of this in Europe. The French president was on the news last night saying that France (and therefore the EU) was giving its full backing to Israel on this matter - even though the tension is and has always been fueled by Israeli actions.

What do you not understand about France's role and what does a 15% muslim population have to do with the sanctions?

This is all the more reason to suspect the EU is going down the same path as the US in moving on it's own and with it's own agenda
