Flagged and starred

Nice concept pix. I definitely seen some of these concepts, especially the SU-XX.

I wonder if Russian aerospace engineers still use slide rulers. Based on these designs, I highly doubt that tradition has stuck.

Nice Pics!

The Ka-90 is really quite fascinating. With that small of a wing area, it would have to possess some type of lifting body, or be travelling really fast. It's a "bit" (Understatement) of a radical departure from thier usual co-axial rotor system.

The Pak-Fa looks like an industrialized F-22. Less fancy stealth devices, and more powerful engines, with Canards to boot. It looks better too!

You'd have to wonder why'd they make the MiG-301 when they have Tu-160's. The budget is already stretched as it is.

The T-50 looks like the prototype of the YF23.
Yes the YF23 that lost out to the F22 for the next generation of American fighter jets.

Anyone else reckons it looks like the YF23

Just noticed something in this: paralay.com...

If you're fluent in Ukrainian (Like Me) you'll notice that the Ka-90 flies at 700 km/h. Just saying.

What do you mean - flies? It is a concept yet. It may be designed to fly at that speed but it is not even assembled yet. Or am i wrong?

Russia is about to pump 40 BILLION into its armed forces. Yes thats 40 BILLION into re-arming and equiping its forces.

Navy and ground forces are getting 10 billion each and the airforce 20 billion. Its all down to the massive energy surplus they have built up and the rising price of gas and oil.

The USSR may be gone, but the bear still has teeth and a hunger to be a world player.

Here is some info about MIG 301/321 Hypersonic interceptor/bomber

During 1975-1989 under direction of Н.З.Матюка development of the hypersonic plane on hydrocarbonic fuel was conducted.

There has passed successful protection of outline sketches two various to destination variants of a product, and by two other variants reports have been presented.

Under direction of the assistant to main designer П.А.Шустера the аван-project of the plane on which two kinds of fuel (hydrogen — on high speeds, kerosene — on low) were applied prepared.

It is known at least about two themes:

- A hypersonic interceptor/bomber 301/321;

- космоплан МиГ-2000;

The information on the plane 301/321 is extremely poor, the machine continues a line of development МиГ-25П/Р.

In 1997 КБ MIG declared protection of the project of the hypersonic plane with the maximal speed more than 5000 km/h.

It was planned, that the plane will exist in two variants: the scout/bomber with УР a class "air-surface", placed in a compartment of the arms equipped by means of electronic investigation and radars of the lateral review and an interceptor.

The first flight could be accomplished not earlier the end of the 90's.

Prospective ТТХ
Length of 40.0 m
Scope of 12.5/29.0 m
The area covered 110 кв.м
The maximal take-off weight of 90000 kg
Normal take-off weight of 75000 kg
Engines 2 * 30000 кгс
The maximal speed of 5300 km/h
Cruise speed of 4250 km/h (М=4) at height of 25-27 km
Practical ceiling of 37000 m
Range maximal 5000 - 7000 km

In the new millenium, the Russian economy remained very dependent on energy and other extractive sectors, such as timber, precious metals, non-ferrous metals and steel. In 2005 the Russian economy continued its sustained steady growth. GDP grew by an estimated 6.4% to $765.5 billion. However, this represented a decline from 7.1% growth in 2004. As in 2004, high world prices for oil and natural gas continue to be the engine behind much of this impressive growth. Russia ended 2006 with its eighth straight year of growth, averaging 6.7% annually since the financial crisis of 1998, while inflation was below 10% for the first time in the past 10 years. Although high oil prices and a relatively cheap ruble initially drove this growth, since 2003 consumer demand and, more recently, investment have played a significant role. The federal budget had run surpluses since 2001 and ended 2006 with a surplus of 9% of GDP. According to 2006 estimates, Russia's official GDP was $1.746 trillion (purchasing power parity) and $733.6 billion (official exchange rate), compared to the US GDP of $13 trillion. By 2007 the Russian defense budget had almost quadrupled to $31 billion over the previous six years. In 2005 Russian defense spending rose 22 percent, 27 percent in 2006 and analysts estimate that in 2007 it could increase by an additional 30 percent. In 2007 the Russian Government approved a re-armament program through the year 2015 with a $240 billion budget.

You are correct! That is why my topic is "Russian Warbird Concepts” I think it would be boring to have one more about "My plane is bigger! Stronger! Faster! Smarter! Then yours!" thread!

I think it would be nice if people would post their top picks from USSR/Russian concepts! If you have any that is!
