So many died because of the earthquake, and now 5 million homeless, with possibility of disease outbreak?

My heart goes out to these people, as well as the people of Burma.

I have a feeling that this year is natural disaster year

Wow,

It is ususally the poor the get it the worst.

Let's see what the Chi Comm's are going to do now. Will this keep them in check for a while or will they ignore their people and keep working on enlarging their army, screwing with Tibet and threatening Taiwan.

It's funny how some people make everything political, China has responded to the disaster perfectly and Americans are trying to find anything which could go against the Chinese government, but unfortunately they found nothing.

Unlike Catrina, China sent more than 100000 troops to assist the quake victims within a day. Americans are shocked lol, the Chinese government responded better than the American, they must be pretty jealous
specialy when in their mind the Chinese government doesn't give a doo doo about it's people

Any government would need the support from her people to be long-lasting. Only the delusional ones will believe they can last forever without this support. The Chinese unity in the mainland and all over the world is for everyone to see after the recent events. Either it be the snow-storm crisis, Tibet unrest, anti-China bashing by Western MSM, Olympics protests, SiChuan Earthquake and so on. This unity is the very mandate to the outside world that the Chinese central government previous missed, they have the support of the people, the over majority of the 1.4 billion Chinese people.

Within 15 minutes the PLA was dispatched to the disaster area. Within 2 hours our premier with absolute power flew to the disaster area to coordinate the crisis and all available required resources used. If you do follow the Earthquake rationally and put politics aside, you will see how much efforts and whatever is needed is done to save lifes. This time with the unprecedented openness and transparancy for the world to follow a Chinese crisis is the time for change. So grab this chance, put aside your prejudices and take down your coloured glasses and see what is really going on.

Have some compassion. Besides, after Katrina, who are we to criticize? I've been moved by the super-human efforts of China and its citizens to handle this crisis.

the number is exaggerated, people now are afraid to go back to their homes because of the frequent aftershock.when it is stablized people will to back to their homes.this earthquake hit a remote mountainous area in west china, not major cities.so the damage wont be too great.like after other earthquakes in the history, first people live in tents for a while, and then go back to their homes.totally destroyed building only located in a few counties.
