This is my first time to this site so if this is not the right location please feel free to move.

I recently visited San Francisco for the first time with my family about 2 weeks ago. One the way in from the airport I wanted to stop and get some night shots of the bridge as I had just gotten a new Canon XTI before the trip and I wanted to try it out.

At the time of the photo session I didn't notice anything in the sky at all. When I got back home and started looking through the photos that I had taken from the trip I noticed there was something above the Golden Gate in one of my pictures.

What do you guys think this is?
This is the zoomed in version...

looks to me like a reflection of the street-lights on the bridge and car lights but upside down and flipped. were you inside a car when you took this?

looks like reflection originating from the bridge.
you think it was taken behind glass ?
i mean the pattern is quite obvious .. just upside down ...

Well done Child of Light. Star for you. I was just about to do the exact same thing you did, then luckily scrolled down and saw your post :-)

If I were a mod, I would give you applause for your work as well.

Cheers.

I pulled the brightness up and resized it so it would fit.....

Tell me something. What size do you find best when posting pics?

Thanks,

I'm so glad when i see logic and common sense

The match is not perfect just because the op forgot to mention that this is a long exposure shot (2 secs).

Have a star & more from me.

It's hard to tell. If I really want to make the shot count after taking the 'normal range' photo, I'd zoom in and at least allow part of the Golden Gate Bridge to appear at the lower right hand corner of the shot (for a point of reference).

It's funny now how the OP just vanishes. Is it me, or does that signal a hoaxer?

But is it enough to constitute the ban hammer?

When you say vanish, you mean he didn't follow up with any posts in this thread. So what? An explanation was provided and perhaps he was happy with that and didn't feel like posting in the thread anymore. Perhaps he has better things to do than monitor ATS every day to see his thread. Brandishing him as a hoaxer is quite extreme.

Wow. For a moment you almost got me there with that picture. Very clever I think but sorry no dice. Too bad. It would have been interesting.

If I open a new account tomorrow and post a ridiculous picture the same day, will I get made fun of?

This is sarcasm I think.

These are the times when I just need to go to bed!
