It doesnt mention a lot of animals...people beleive in dinosaurs because *duh* we have found a lot of dinosaur bones. I'm sure dinosaurs were common back then.

Yeah, dinosaurs were all over the place in Biblical times of a few thousand years ago... all those T-rexes and such...

things that make you go hmmmmm.....

could it be God came to this planet after the dinosaurs had become extinct???

Actually, I can't think of any religion that mentions dinosaurs

enlighten me if there is mention of dinosaurs in any of the major religious texts.

The Bible doesn't mention a lot. It's not a detailed description of every event in History, it's more of a generalized documentation of major events overall. So far, many of the events mentioned in the Bible have been proven Scientifically though. I believe in the Bible, and I believe in Science, the only hard part is finding where they both melt together. Sometimes, some of the terms need to be taken more figuratively as to their true meanings. I'll admit, it's a real complicated Book to understand, but it really makes you think, and that is it's true purpose in my view.

First, a general unspecific animal reference,

Genesis 7:2-3
2 Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate,
3 and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth.

Ok,ok - I sense you're all impatient. So, I bring to you (drum roll please) . . .

Job 40:15-24
15 "Look at the behemoth,
which I made along with you
and which feeds on grass like an ox.
16 What strength he has in his loins,
what power in the muscles of his belly!
17 His tail sways like a cedar;
the sinews of his thighs are close-knit.
18 His bones are tubes of bronze,
his limbs like rods of iron.
19 He ranks first among the works of God,
yet his Maker can approach him with his sword.
20 The hills bring him their produce,
and all the wild animals play nearby.
21 Under the lotus plants he lies,
hidden among the reeds in the marsh.
22 The lotuses conceal him in their shadow;
the poplars by the stream surround him.
23 When the river rages, he is not alarmed;
he is secure, though the Jordan should surge against his mouth.
24 Can anyone capture him by the eyes,
or trap him and pierce his nose?"

[subject to some debate]

Next question: Why are the pyramids and Sphynx of Giza, Egypt - the #1 World Wonder - not mentioned anywhere in the Bible? Even the Holy Family lived and traveled in that region for a time. Yet not a word.

The Bible doesn't mention the duckbilled platypus either, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

Plus, why would they write about animals that were extinct?I know I don't find many ways to bring up the subject of dinosaurs in conversation, and it's not like they have anything to do with Jesus.

What does the Maker need a sword for?
And those must be some awfully big lotus plants and reeds....

Lemmie take a wild stab at this one....

Maybe because there is proof of Dinosaurs? That kinda helps make it believable...
