I strongly believe Tibet will become more and more wealthy and prosperity
with the help of Chinese government, the railway will not only link
Tibet and inner part of China, but will also extend to Indian subcontinent,
south Asia and mid-east, then Tibet will become one of the traffic center
in China, more and more Tibetan people will abandon their traditional life
and seeking a new life.
and then, I'd like to see some hypocritical Americans despair to death.
that will be interesting.

There are two sides to every coin. Our world is fragmenting, wanting to break into ever smaller chunks. It's been going on in Europe for a while, in Africa, and around the globe. Each group wants to run itself as a country apart from any other. But the established nations want to hold on to what they have.

Any group can look into it's history and find reasons/excuses for autonomy. Tibet is just another in a long line. And whether you support Tibet or not depends on an emotional response to your view of history.

I think it's a sign of man wanting total freedom, as ever smaller groups appear wanting to have their own government, eventually it will boil down to each person wanting themselves to make decisions about everything they do. Maybe the idea of traditional governments is what is being fought against on the whole planet.

And even one death is a massacre if you're the one doing the dying.

A country that robbed territory from native indian and slaughtered most of them,
A country that grabed, traded, exploited black slave until 1860's
A country that refused to share the suffrage to female until 1900's
A country that put all Japanese descents to concentration camp in WWII,
A country that black must yield their seat to white on bus until 1960's
A country that is always at war for the profit of their munitioners,
now plays as Angell to blame others of any fault, sarcastic?

The same could be said of Tibetans, but tell me is Tibet a soverign nation like Indian reservations are?
Slavery was outlawed in China in 1910.
Suffrage was granted to Chinese females in 1947.
It is a patently false claim that "all Japanese decendents" were interned.
In certain cities there were Jim Crow laws, but your statement shows you don't know the intracies or shape of segregation during the early to mid twentieth century.
Ahh yes a country that "is always at war for profit of munitioners." Such a glib and pointless "observation" that it defies response.

Your staement rings with chinese propaganda. Tibetans do not want china and all the supposed modernization and the pollution it brings. Tibetans want China out of their homeland. There is no reading between the lines here and no other interpretations of what is best for Tibet, they simply and utterly want china out.

Your threads in your profile lead me to believe your are chinese, your use of language leads me to believe you are chinese.

I'm not a historian, what I want to say is: no one is unblemished
I guess the so called the "destroy of lamasery" mainly happened in
cultural revolution, at that time not only Tibet but also rest of
China suffered destroy of cultural relic.
but now we Chinese (include Tibetan) must look forward, we must
work hard to get a strong country and a better life,
Some hypocritical Americans want to stop us, that is fantasy.

Tibetans are not chinese, read a bit of history on the subject. Tibet is being exploited and no amount of chinese propoganda will change the view of those that pay any attention to the history of both countries.

Just what is it I will have to wait and see?

Ah... here's the source. Not very reliable, but then what is coming out of Tibet or China?

Psurbu Tsering of the Tibetan Association of New York and New Jersey said its members received phone calls from Tibet claiming 70 people had been killed and 1,000 arrested. The reports could not be verified.

There is so much credible information on the brutal occupation of Tibet. I find it laughable that the propaganda served up so far here on this thread continues. I can provide links all day long that expose chinas exploitation and systematic practice of genocide.

The number of dead varies widely. A german publication is estimating that eighty have died and CNN this morning reported 100. Tibet is occupied by china, really does anyone think we will hear the truth?

Theres actually a lot of things coming out. The problem with this is they post them in other language forums because most of the Chinese/Tibetan people don't know English which gives the impression that little information is coming out because of the lack of it in english.

CCTV has shown a lot of real pictures and as demonstrated before Tibetans can as well. Maybe people are just expecting a lot of deaths and taking lack of information as censorship

The innocent pedestrian is more than likely a chinese national occupying a country that does not belong to china. I am no advocate for violence and what is happening in Tibet breaks my heart even for the chinese occupiers that were probably encouraged to relocate to Tibet. However if the chinese were occupying my country I would be throwing rocks and committing violent acts.

As far as chinese news I provide a link

en.wikipedia.org...'s_Republic_of_China

There are many more where that came from.

Then I know why you show your hysteria and crankiness in this thread.
Because you can only get or deliberately only accept unilateral information
and refuse to know multilateral informations.
keep on your raving please, and see how many people here trust your propaganda.

Excuse me?

Dalai Lama: Tibet Wants Autonomy, Not Independence

www.dalailama.com...

First of all, they signed off to be part of china roughly 1000 years ago. They also signed off to be part of china in 1950. The Dalai Lama concedes that Tibet is a part of china. What he wants is so called religious freedoms NOT INDEPENDENCE

Dont make ridiculous statements if you have no clue of their context

However if the chinese were occupying my country I would be throwing rocks and committing violent acts.

What country would that be?

en.wikipedia.org...'s_Republic_of_China

Ohh, ahhh a wikipedia link. Not bias at all....

And if you read the link it is not much different from other western nations.
