Vertical Lights over Iraq

I've been a lurker here for some time, just joined the other day. I've been reading and learning, but I've just come across something that I don't see anyone else mentioning here and I'd like to see if anyone knows what it might be. It's a video shot by a couple of service personnel in Iraq, hosted on LiveLeak.

The video shows a series of vertical light streaks throughout the sky. It's through a night vision camera, so I' don't know if the streaks were visible without the light enhancement or not.

I'll post the link and allow more knowledgeable members to discuss this and figure our what it is.
