Ya sure. Whatever it takes for you to fall asleep at night. Uncle George will keep you safe.

There are a few people, obviously not as sage and well-placed as yourself, that would disagree with you.

Thanks Becker44 -

I always like to read what you have to say. One of the things I like about ATS is that there is usually someone who has some "inside" or personal information about any given topic that the rest of us don't. Your personal knowledge of this little town in Vermont is a good example. Believe me, there are a few places in Colorado that are just as "interesting."

I also appreciate the link to the FreeRepublic thread. I read FreeRepublic a lot and also post there. (I hope that doesn't get me kicked out of ATS!!) I think it would be a good idea for some of the more liberal ATS members to look at FreeRepublic once in a while and see what the "other side" thinks. They may find that there are just as many conservative people as there are liberals in the US with just as strong of ideas. I'm not trying to start a fight with that comment, I just think it is a good idea for intelligent people to look at both sides on any issue.

false assumption yet again. I hate bush, AND I think this is stupid. In fact I just shook my head and laughed too, just for you.

It would be better if they got other cities together and then demanded action from their state representatives.

Forgive me, I'm really not trying to pick on you, but I find the phrasing of that very entertaining, because some people DO have the sense to support our president just because he's not a left-leaning democrat, and that's exactly the problem with this country- we vote for what our leaders aren't instead of for what they are.

I wonder why we never heard from Vermont when Slick willy was boning the fat chick in the oval office.

Well, for one thing, it's not illegal to do that (and if it were, our current president never would have been concieved).

For another, the people of Vermont might like sex. A surprising number of people do. Maybe not republicans though (To be fair, I'd be afraid of women too if I spent a lot of time watching Fox News. Spending two hours a day staring at Gretta Van whatever and Ann Coulter would hurt me in ways that viagra won't fix).

For yet one last thing, I wish you'd been a little more couthe in your phrasing of that point.
1. It sounds kind of odd for you to refer to it that way while you're saying that anything sexually offensive is an impeachable offense.
and 2. It might be offensive to some people.

Vermont...the whitest state in the Union.

I worked in VT for a couple of years. On the manufacturing floor, the techs weren't allowed to call their wire-cutters "dykes", as they are commonly known. They had to refer to them as "side-cutters".

You make a very valid point here. The Presidential candidates should be saying "vote for me because I believe in and will do the following things." Instead, they all seem to be saying "vote for me because the other guy (or gal) lied about his mistress or has a certain religion or believes in UFOs." I have to admit that I more often vote AGAINST the candidate who scares the putty out of me rather than FOR the candidate that I think has good ideas or a good agenda.

The reason Bush has never been impeached is because he has done nothing that would warrant it.

Bush haters will applaud this action, but the rest of us will just shake our heads and laugh at the stupidy.

I have to agree with you here Double R. I think the Librals will be speaking a new tune when and if thier man or women gets a shot at running the country again. I call that, the next bash from them will be "its Bushes fault" even after he leaves office, that they will singing when the Democrats can do any better at running OUR country. I hate what politics has become in America. Its nothing but bash the other party all of the time and lets not discuss what we can do to make it better. Its all about making the other candidate look worse than you.

We may be surely doomed for sure if we dont get someone in power that can make a difference. And I dont think its anyone who would want the job sad as that sounds.

It should be obvious to all who have had their cool aid and nice session in front of the programming box this morning that Lord God Bush is in fact a demigod and therefore incapable of wrong doing. Far from being subjected to criticism of any kind, he is deserving of your worship and eternal devotion.

Slick Willy on the other hand is just as obviously Satan incarnate, and should be immediately visited by the Pope’s new exorcism squad. Among Clinton’s real crimes (the bj distraction is just that) are Ruby Ridge, Waco, OKC, Los Alamos and the subsequent moving of nuclear tech to the Chi Coms. Please ignore the fact that GHWB and Slick Willy are now best buds who vacation together and such.

Seriously, the Bush’s and Clinton’s are all a bunch of globalist traitors to the constitution who deserve a sudden stop at the end of a short rope.

This isn't so much about impeachment, this is more to do with BushCo being arrested for war crimes.

I'm almost sure that he would be up for other crimes too, like crimes against humanity.

Ok I have to ask, what war crimes would he have committed which arnt by products of war anyway? We all know War is nasty business and the most evil crime against humanity that could ever be committed.

However, my point is that in war these things happen for every country that has ever been in a war. Continuing to dwell on the fact; we should not have been there in the first place, only cost anger in those hoping the leaders they hate will by some miracle stand trial for the crimes against humanity they perceive to have been personally motivated by those leaders. Personally I felt great when Saddam was captured, when his two very well mannered sons were killed, and when the Taliban was ousted from Afghanistan. I felt a sense of happiness for all the people living under those conditions who had to put up with daily life you or I couldn’t even fathom.

Every war ever started was about one thing power and money. Bush is not unlike any other American president who has created a wartime environment. How bout Vietnam should the Democrats Johnson or Kennedy be held accountable for that war, which was for nothing more than money and pushing democracy and capitalism to south east asia?

I dont like this administration much either but what done is done. He wont be brought up on any charges and believe me life goes on. im looking forward to Nov 08. i really hope we have a better choice available.

The first war crime that pops into mind is the use of DU which has poisoned large areas of Iraq for millennia to come, not to mention many of our own soldiers. It's true that war itself has always been a crime, but the escape of such criminals in the past is no excuse for ignoring justice today. JFK should most certainly not be blamed for Vietnam, as trying to prevent that war was one of things that got him murdered.

BTW, good luck beating my 'Boys tomorrow, even with our starters on the bench.

Its been a shame, considering I made the mistake of voting for him.
This administration is far beyond disappointment.

Even if Bush and his cronies are never charged with war crimes,
they will go down in history, or at least in the minds of MANY,
as ONE OF THE WORST PRESIDENCIES EVER.

I find comfort knowing karma will take care of them.

It is a shame we "elected" this man; it will however be an embarrassment to the American people if we don't get everybody we can to vote this time around and and at least try to fix America. Read up on your candidates and vote wisely this time around folks.

Back at you should be a good game. I hear you about the DU, but I wouldnt think the President would know about its use untill its to late, I dont know. For all the bad things that go on I have to think there are some positives. This Administration is in its last year. I would think some cleaning up will take place. I will be waiting for the pardon list to see whos on it.

Man i have never laughed so hard as i am right now. This one town actually thinks they can arrest the president and vice president if they step 1 toe in that town?????? Someone please slap them and wake them up. while the people occupying the office of president and vice president are in office the individual states can't do anything to them legally! The state of NH or any state does not have the power to arrest either the president or vice president.

The only people that can impeach the president or vice president is the House of Reps. and then after they impeach them the senate has to hold a trial, if they are found guilty the senate removes them from office and places the next in succession in office. Once they are removed from office is when they will face criminal charges.

Now the house and senate can only impeach the president for the following crimes.
Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors
impeachment

High crimes and misdemeanors is a phrase from the United States Constitution, Article II, Section 4: "The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."

"High" in the legal parlance of the 18th century means "against the State". A high crime is one which seeks the overthrow of the country, which gives aid or comfort to its enemies, or which injures the country to the profit of an individual or group. In democracies and similar societies it also includes crimes which attempt to alter the outcome of elections.

Now since most of the congress has went along with Mr. Bush they will not impeach him as they would have to impeach themselves also.

Face it Bush haters, You are stuck with Bush and his company of
until after the new president is inaugurated!

Hey Big ups to small, all balls, New england states. I'm from N.H. where live free or die is our motto, and the revolutionary war fought and won in our back yards. We have patriotism and pride coming out of everywhere. I'm glad the some people still have the " what ever you wanna call it " to stand up and say this whole thing is horribly wrong in it's ethics an cause. As citizens of the United States of America, "of the people, by the people and for the people" needs to be brought back into shining light.

Wicked good work outta you Vermont!!!
