Just a idea which I hope others can give opinions on.

Imagine if, in 1947, a Flying Disc, with Greys and all, did crash at Roswell, and imagine if, the Government of the day, announced it to the world, with total openess and information, and there was no other contact from the Aliens since then.

Just how would world history have turned out in the last 60 years /
Would there have been any major differences to the world we live in today?

Nice conjecture.

Sounds like some Skunkworks
material.

Since there is no proof of aliens,
where is this "What If" scenario
leading ?

Good question. Gonna give you a star for that !! Well i guess such an announcement would have nipped the Cold War in the bud as the impact of such an announcement would have brought mankind to it's collective senses and realise that there is a bigger picture out there and that life was not just confiend to this planet. Instead all the money would have been invested in soace programmes and i am sure we would have at least an offical base on the moon and probably just getting the first Mars basecamp set up round about now. Our first baby steps out of the playpen and into the wider realm of the cosmic unknown. I think such an announcement would have a postitive effect once the shock and implications had been absorbed and assimilated. We are ready now for such an announcement. maybe 2008 will see that happen.

Well for example would Korea and Vietnam have happened/
The Moon landings?
The state of Religion?

Where would the world be today?

Want a great "What If" ?

Think

What if there are no "aliens" ?

What if private corporations are
flying these air-frames ?

What if only a small part of the
government is "in the know".

What if....

Lex

If the government at the time did admit to the legitimacy of this event, hmm.

It really depends on what they learned on that day, and subsequent days after the Roswell incident about aliens and their technology.

If everything was just released freely, then you wouldn't have people thinking they are wierd because they think they saw a UFO or alien. We might be more privileged to higher technology that we aren't now allowed to have because of secrecy.

What if this is all a dream? We are all living in a big simulation? We could continue in perpetuity.

We can 'what if' all we want, doesn't change 'what is'.

What if's don't count. A what if never happened and is just fantasy. Everybody can say "what if" this or that but it won't change what really happened. I found this "what if" and thought it was an interesting read.
