Researchers develop 2-D invisibility cloak

physorg.com

Generally speaking, when we see an object, we see the visible light that strikes the object and is reflected. The Clark School team's invisibility cloak refracts (or bends) the light that strikes it, so that the light moves around and past the cloak, reflecting nothing, leaving the cloak and its contents "invisible."

I thought that this was a lot more impressive than the Japanese firm developing the projector-type cloak. This is more like, you know, science!

Plasma is making light bend leaving the subject invisible!

Simply amazing!

Excellent find

I wonder what the "cloak" looks like?

If it is "bending light" around it, and reflecting none back; into our eyes,...Does it look BLACK? SHIMMERY?.

Or does it....make it seem as though the image (cloak) is cut out and 'stitched' back together?? As if the very object it covers, is reduced visually; to a mere verticle line, due to the light bending around???

Very intersting stuff

Oh, and i like your name dude

HAHAH!

Thanks for the compliment

This definatly is the next step in soldier evolution.

Can you imagine a special op's team cloaked in light bending plasma shields. What on earth could stop an invisible soldier.

Question:
If this device can bend and distort light bouncing off, can it also hide a heat signature? They could be cloaked thermally and visibly, what an awesome time we live in!

I would be nice if i could get my hands on one of these in the near future. It might be very useful.

Check out this picture I found

This is how the cloak would look while bending light waves.
