Did you know that when animals suffer; certain hormones are released within the animal which make the meat/milk toxic??? That's part of the reason why Muslims kill the cow or lamb quickly; so that the animal doesn't suffer before it dies.

I'm not trying to justify PETA's extremism; but to say that they bring nothing is ignorant.

PETA are NOT extremists, it's activism but more at a psychological level (they use celebrities and stuff), personnally i have nothing about PETA or other groups in defense of the animals , but i prefer ALF, i'm planning a raid myself eventually..

I am a vegitarian myself, but the people is Peta take it too far. I mean how does blowing up a lab and TAKING HUMAN LIVES, make saving a few animals worth while? I mean, I don't want to see animals treated inhumanely either...but if a few animals have to be sacraficed to advance new medicines, they what is wrong with that. Would you rather see them start testing on humans full time? If they don't use animals for their testing where do you think they are going to get their guinnae pigs from?

First PETA is not that active, Second , the individuals or groups who are the most actively in defense of the animals and against animal cruelty never injure nobody in their direct actions, only facilities.. they liberate life they are not killing or torture it, like the ones they're fighting are doing.

No People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is not a secret society. This thread should be moved to BTS or in Medical Issues & Conspiracies.

PETA is a distraction for those who need a cause to occupy themselves and ignore the human rights being violated all over the world (mostly being afflicted by the US)...I'm all for the ethical treatment of animals, but there's nothing wrong with using an animal and all its parts, as long as it doesn't suffer, you give it a chance to reproduce, and use as much of the animal and not waste it for just its skin....then what's wrong with that? PETA should concentrate on just that.

PETA is mostly just a bunch of nuts who think that all meat eating is an act of murder. They are quasi-political but nobody really listens to them in government as they are so far out there. I seem to recall that they are headquartered in Virginia and that there are female members that dress as showgirls and intimidate or just amuse people in food stores. They seem harmless enough, have a good sense of humor and just have a bit of a warped veiw on food. Although I have heard that they support eco-terrorists but I dunno if that was proven or not.
