Why bother to get up?..(

This is why I am such a great believer in doing the job you want to do,not choosing one based on money making.

How peeved would you be spending a life locked in an office just to watch a killer meteor whizzing towards Earth or Invisible flesh eating bugs decimating the population?

Choose your path wisely young Jedi..

From the Bible:

Matthew 24:42, 44
42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. ... 44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Luke 12:40
40You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

Mark 13:32-36
32 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
35 "Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.

So if Christ says one thing, namely that no-one, even himself, can know the time of the end, and a 12th century "prophet" says otherwise, whos to be believed?

Every generation since Christ has used the current events of their day to "prove" the end-times were/are upon them.

My pennies.

There you go! You answered your own question within the verses that you quote.

We are called to watch the times and act accordingly.
We do not fear the return of Christ or the evils that exist during these times. We anticipate their arrival with longing because the arrival of Christ will bring deliverence to us.

We long to live eternally with Jesus Christ in his kingdom!

As christians, if we are inadvertantly killed by God's wrath, during these times, we are promised a to be safely in the presence of God immediately, so we do not fear death!
