We've seen this at ATSNN, however due to a lack of credible information we're going to sit on it for a short time until data becomes available, the only available information is that something has happened and nobody is hurt or dead.

I'll keep an eye out for magnitude & depth reports.
Good to hear there are no injuries being reported yet.

I read earlier that the earths spinning is slowing down, sure its happening gradually over millenia but its still happening.

P.s. As this story develops theres a strong chance it will be moved to ATSNN, you'll still recieve points for it, its just forum housekeeping

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (CNN) -- A strong earthquake near a coastal resort on the Pacific Ocean jolted the region Thursday and could be felt nearly 200 miles away in Mexico City.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.6 and struck around 5:30 p.m. (6:30 p.m. ET). The temblor was centered about 25 miles east of the resort community of Zihuatanejo in the state of Guerrero, according to the USGS.

Zihuatanejo is located 200 miles southwest of Mexico City and 120 miles northwest of Acapulco.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the quake.

I wonder if all these recent quakes could be pre-emptive of a massive tectonic plate shift?

Anyone know of a world chart showing the last month or so earthquake occurances, reletive to plate divides?
