Yes, it's a real US stamp.

And other than being similar to the old Roman eagles and a gazillion other stylized eagles, there's nothing significant about it.

I didn't realise this was old news.I agree any symbol of an eagle is going to be compared unfavourably with the SS symbol.
I only chucked it up for discussion.
