So far, it looks to me like Leading Seaman Faye Turney is the one under the most duress. Her body language is the most defensive of all the people we've seen on t.v. so far. By contrast, the three male sailors appear to be relaxed.

The officer whom we see talking as he points to a map is clearly using evasive language. He is clearly telegraphing. Cooperation to gain good traetment, stalling when possible. Saying nothing that matters when possible. As some of you already know, this is SOP in POW training.

Thanks a lot for this kind of information Justin, it is very interesting
If I may ask, what qualifications do you have in this field and how long have you been studying behavior?

Personal Qualifications:

As a legally blind person, I confront prejudice just about every time I go out in public. By necessity, I've learned how to read voice tone and body language. My dad taught me how to play poker, so I'm good at stopping tells. As a skilled liar, I've learned how to spot that trait in others. Speech and body language can tell you a lot about the other guy, if you're willing to be patient.

Professional Qualifications:

As the holder of a degree in poli-sci, I've been schooled in propoganda, psy-ops, and basic interrogation methods. As a student of military history, I have studied advanced propoganda, interrogation, cointel, and behavior analysis. I've had more than my share of "opportunities" to...pracitce...what I've learned.

As it turned out, profiling factored in to my first book much more so than I expected, so I had to dig for some of the naughty stuff. That, and I've been around the U.S. intelligence community off and on since the day I was born. I fear not the dark side.

Thank-you for sharing that with us. I am sorry to read about your sight, but it hasn't stopped you going on into your chosen field
I look forward to reading more about your thoughts on the videos, letters, and anything else that comes out of Iran on this. KUTGW.

Thanks for your analyze Justin,
They're not in a Muslim Gitmo ...tells us though under stress quite relaxed.

Also the latest signals from Tehran, qouted by Iranien chief negotiater Ali Larijani show Iran's intentions definitely not is war.

Muppetus Galacticus posted a thread om it here:

Today a weeklong holiday is ending in Iran and I think we are likely to see some moves within the next 24-48 hours.

It seems clear to me that the captives are not being narco interrogated, and they're not being sleep deprived. That doesn't rule out any of the soft forms of manipulation. It's possible that we are only being allowed to see the most cooperative of the 15 captives. The rest could be non-cooperative for any number of reasons. It's unlikely that they are all being held in the same location.

The US only lately and cautiously joined the condamnations.

Which bears to mind through the week's long drama revealed hardly a mentioning or a footnote has been passed by big media concerning the five, and gawd knows who else, diplomates the US has taken hostage in Iraq and detained on secret locations.

I would like to see what video footage of those captives could tell an exp like Justin.

Here's a couple of links on the US held Iranian captives and the Geneva Convention argument. That's what they're all bashing with now as for the obviously decent held British captives.

Who talkes about Geneva or any other convention for that matter, when the military tribunal system and its black ops and detainy system is exposed. Would be worth a lot of talk, I'd say.

IPS discussing the unknown fate of the Iranian hostages

Here's the story that didn't raise barely a peep in the Western news media about violations of international law. Robert Parry on Bush, Iran & Selective Outrage

Fox News Alert just scrolled

New Images of UK Captives Being shown on Iranian TV

No report yet just words to this effect while the President answers Q's at the Press conference.

edit: change video to images

3 images shown on Foxnews, showing the captives all looking in good condition, chilling out, a couple playing chess, a group of six laughing and smiling. Looks like a release to show the UK that the captives are in good condition, probably another step towards a resolution of this situation.

Are they all there do you know? Is this the video of the 15 that Iran said they would NOT show?

It appeared like they were all in the same room, 3 pics of different angles, I am not sure of the total number, I will check and see if I can find them on the web.

Not a video just 3 pics..

Here is the Fars news article with the 2 of the 3 new pics and a slanted article of course:

British Marines Enjoying So-Called Captivity

Today's photographs show that the British troops are having fruit and coffee, speaking to each other, playing chess and on the whole spending their desirable leisure time in Iran instead of serving missions in the cumbersome conditions of the Persian Gulf.

Pics are there and though that quote looks like a jab, I think it is to let the UK know that there troops are still in good condition.

The third photo I saw on Fox showed eight to nine of the captives in the same room and they looked relaxed, wonder why this one isn't on the Fars site?

I found it on another page at Fars here's the link : Look at right side and down

I am having trouble getting the english page to load,
here is the link to the arabic mainpage with the third photo:

Look at left side and down for the photo

Based on my study of the limited amount of video and pictures I can find, it seems clear that the Iranians haven't done anything more than verbal interrogation. If anything, the British sailors might be getting superior treatment because they are so cooperative. It's not like they'd have anyting to hide, especially if their mission really was nothing more than the stated search for U.N. mandated contraband. The release of these pictures does signal a definite de-escalation in the crisis. We should be glad for that.
