I was just wondering if a sort of notice could be made letting us know that somebody quoted us. Sometime I might put in my 2cents on a post on pg1 and
by the time I come back the thread is already 10pgs long. That kinda sucks when someone is asking you a question about what you wrote, or explaing
something to you , or whatever. I dont even know if this is possible or if eerybody would like, but its jsut an idea that came to my head.
I like the idea, though I don't know how it could be done.
But I know what you mean. I often wander back into a thread and find I've been quoted 4 pages ago, but by the time I see it any reply I make is
pointless because the thread has moved on.
The feature actually exists on some boards and it is a good idea, but I doubt we will see it here because of the size of the board and the coding
headaches.
Some boards will send you an email for every response to your posts, but can you imagine getting 80 emails or U2Us? That'd be worse than spam.
Could'nt you just put the author of the post up in the top corner with a hit counter? I think it's a good idea. I am new and have felt really off
topic a few times because after posting a comment I realize that it had nothing to do with the original post. P.S. Your avatar made my heart leap when
I first saw it, beautiful.
This is an excellent and useful idea. I agree that this should be implemented with the least intrusion and server resources. How, though, is a tricky
question. The board code as it is keeps no track of who quotes who.
