Spurs look set to stun bitter North London rivals Arsenal, after the White Hart Lane club launched a 14 million pound bid for Gunners target Julio Baptista.

The 23 year old Brazillian, dubbed 'The Beast', has been a target for Arsenal for some weeks now, and the Gunners have had several bids knocked back by the star's club, Sevilla.

But a statement on Sevilla's official website said "The most important offer that we have received is that of Tottenham, of more than 20m Euros."

Well i wouldn't have expected that. If they get him that could mean that Kanoute could be off to Man City.

Baptista looks set to snub a move to the Premiership in favour of staying in Spain with Sevilla for another year.

It is understood that the Brazillian is aiming to stay long enough to qualify for Spanish nationality, so as not to take up a non-EU place in any side he plays for.

Which bank have Spurs been robbing?

Lol...only kidding......would be great for Spurs to get him, its about time they started bidding and not just being linked to different players!
