The last Doombugs
Chris and the rebels foudn themselves walking down an unlit corridor, but there was a light at the end, it was an open door. Chris ran through and came face to face with a man in a white vest and camo jeans, he was holding a pistol. Chris didn't hesitate and shot him in the leg. He collapsed on the floor, rebels surrounded him. "Hold your fire." Chris said to the rebels. He walked over to the man he had shot. "What do you want?" He said. "Tell me whats growing." Chris asked. "The whole point of the Doombug!" The man shouted at him. Chris reloaded his weapon and pointed at him and asked him again. "Tell me....What is being sprayed?" The man laughed. "it's already been sprayed. Nothings growing anymore. If you think there is some sort of animal coming out of the doombug, your wrong. The Doombug creates an atmosphere where noone can live." Chris thought for a minute. It made sense spraying the Doombug. "You think we'd really let that happen to America?" "You already nuked half of it!" One of the rebels said, kicking the man. "It wasn't just us! It was... Others." Chris sighed. "Who do you mean?" Chris asked. "I dont know, h-honestly!" "I think hes telling the truth" One of the rebels said, putting down his gun.
Chris decided to let the man live. After all, nothing could grow anymore. They walked on withforced directions from the man to the Doombugs. Ther were being stored in a surprisingly low secuirty room. Maybe they didn't want to make it too obvious. They entered, and found the inside surprisingly large. All the rebels stood back and pulled their guns at the ready. Chris looked up, and was confronted with 2 huge robots. Square like build, with to arms with chain guns on each hand. There was a slit in the middle for it to be man operated. Behind them were 4 Doombugs. They had to get through them. They spoke in a generated voice, "We'll guard this."
They were in for the battle....

The robots did not hesitate to open fire on the intruders. A hail of bullets swarmed at the rebels. Three were down instantly. Chris and a couple of other rebels dived behind a nearby filing cabinet. Papers exploded out of the drawers as the robots opened fire on the flimsy metal containers.

Chris moved around past some shelves. The boxes provided some cover from fire, but one of the robots redirected his chaingun in Chris' general direction. The other one joined in, not having any luck with the fling cabinet, which was proving better cover than anyone anticipated. Chris threw his arms up in front of his face to try and protect himself from the bullets.

Chris grabbed his gun, cocked it and took a couple of random shots at the robots. He could not hear the richochet off the robot's hard, metal frames through all the bullets whistling at the shelves and ripping boxes to shreds. He lunged for cover behind another filing cabinet.

The robots, apparently not bothering to open fire on a new cabinet, went back to shooting at the first one.

Chris took his chance and shot his whole magazine at the robots before they had the chance to turn around or start firing. One of the bullets, by sheer luck, found its way into the small slit in the robot. A spark flickered in there and suddenly the robot collapsed to the floor in a jolting spasm. It let off random burst of fire and shot at the other robot too. Soon both robots were on the ground, motionless.

The rebels carefully approached them and kicked the metal shells. Nothing happened. Chirs apporached the Doombugs and opened one of them up. He glanced inside the Doombug and then had a look at the blueprints he had taken.

"Strange..." Chris said. It was strange. The blueprints did not match the Doombug in any way possible. It was as if one had been made without consideration at all about the other.
