Right after the controversy reached the Internet, several UFO researchers suggested that the disk-shaped object could be a cover for some liquid container that couldn’t be transported assembled, and had to be taken in parts. That, according to a few investigators, would explain why the object was being transported in broad day light with no camouflage or at least some cover on top of it. Nuclear engineer Luiz Carlos C. Pires sent an e-mail positively identifying the disk-shaped object as a cover for a factionary distillation machine, but! the discussion is still open. And information is giving to overseas colleagues as to obtain further info that could explain the case.

Seems a likely explanation, seeing as it was being transported on a public road...

I would have suggested a movie prop.

Still, it would be an interesting sight to see!

My initial impression was the top of some sort of holding tank or silo, being transported. I thought it could also be a fiberglass satellite dish, although I'm not sure if they can transport those in that fashion.

Of course, it could be a 'flying saucer'. Just not very likely.

Worlds largest slip and slide snow saucer..?? You and 100 friends can enjoy a fun filled trip down your local slopes on the new mega saucer....

Then again - something like a tank lid is quite plausible as would be a large piece of art or an architectural element headed for a building site somewhere. A diligent pursuer would follow the thing to its destination for a more conclusive ID. If it was a military truck and headed to "the big army fuel depot" that would easily explain it.... The fact that there were escorts is no biggie - any oversize load would have them....

Isn't it known that the best place to hide something is right out in the open. Well, maybe this is what they are doing, then if asked they could say prop for movie or amusement park, etc.

Yea this is probably something mundane and its nothing extra terestrial about it. Just think though. If you were to transport something that you didnt want anyone to know about. Just transport it like it was no big deal. No one would notice or care. and those that did notice wouldent be believed cause its being transported in the open durring broad daylight. It would be the perfect cover if it were a real UFO
