Plan Events on December 10th, Human Rights and Impeachment Day

December 10 is Human Rights Day, and this year we're making it Human Rights and Impeachment Day. Slogan: "Putting Impeachment on the Table."

We encourage you to organize a town hall forum or rally on this day for the impeachment of Bush and Cheney.

See

LINK for resources.

It seems the impeachment issue is very much alive. Will you do something to impeach? If you wont, why not?

Seems to me Impeachment of either or both will require more voting power than the to be majority Senate will have in January.
I'm wondering if writing the Senators of the Republican Party holding office in Jan/07 would set the tone for some of them to support an investigation and impeachment proceedings?

These investigations can take long enough, that's no secret. Not getting to Impeachment proceedings before his term ends, may lead to a Pardon by the next President. As I understand it, if Impeached, Mr Bush cannot be pardoned and is susceptible to charges and court action after leaving office.

Reason: It is apparently childish retribution for what happened to Bill Clinton and I will have no part in it.

We are engaged in a VERY REAL war on terrorism and the far left doesn't get it! We have Chinese Generals publishing books called "Assymetrical Warfare" which outlines, in detail, how the Chinese intend to destroy America and the left wants more dialogue - and, in fact, has enabled the Chinese through lax trade agreements and sharing of sensitive military secrets. You have leaders in the Middle East calling for the destruction of America and the left simply wants more dialogue. You have N. Korea developing and testing nuclear weapons, threatening to use them against us AND the real possibility that they will proliferate this technology to terrorists and the left calles for more dialogue - AFTER a Democrat administration allowed them the time and technology to make such advancements. Talk is cheap - Hitler should've taught you all that!

The last thing this country needs is the continuing childishness from the left. Here's a tip: The majority of the country are not rabid anti-war fanatics. Do not be fooled by the Democrat's victory this past election cycle. It was NOT about the war on terror. It was about the Republicans NOT staying true to their roots and the majority of Conservatives being fed up with it! Yes, Iraq is abyssmal and withdrawal necessary - In a cool, calm and calculated way.

Only the Cindy Sheehan wing of the Democrat party really believes in impeachment. THAT is a group that I NEVER want to be associated with. Beyond that - you haven't a single impeachable offense to hang your hat's on. Let us just continue with the business of the day and not engage such ridiculous psttiness at the expense of the majority of Americans!!!

The only way impeachment will happen is if the people storm the White House and drag GWB and Cheney out kicking and screaming.
The Dems, for all their bluster, will do nothing as they went along with everything too, never openly questioning or standing up to voice their objections. Many Dems have also accepted money from the same lobbyists as the Reps so are equally as guilty of pandering to "special interest" groups.

As soon as the election was over the Dems, who had shouted the word impeachment, suddenly changed their views and now say it's off the agenda. That's politics, you get lied to whoever is in power.

I hear a lot about impeachment around here and I for one think it is a load of crock, but I am curious as to the other peoples vehemence on the subject. Can I get a detailed list of criminal activities that GWB actually engaged in? Please stick to factual narrowing accusations.

Thank you in advance.

SO DG ... looks like you want CHENEY to be president? Afterall, if you toss out Bush 43 that is exactly what you will get. Cheney as president and most likely Dr. Rice as Vice President for the next two years.

Why would you want Cheney to be president?

Impeachment?
Sorry.... Its just funny and its really funny to the ones that impeachment is being directed at. Remember when Clinton was impeached? Didnt really do a thing did it? He was allowed to serve out his term as president if I can remember correctly.

Do what God would do....allow them all to bask in their darkness and watch them perish. The innocents they take with them dont worry about...they are safe.

Worse thing you can do to these people is laugh at them and keep exposing them making no shadow a hiding place.

Clinton was not convicted by the Senate: 55-45 ‘not guilty’ on perjury, 50-50 (split) on obstruction; therefore not removed from office.

That said, no US president has ever been convicted by the US Senate; nor has one ever been removed from office. The house has only moved three times in US history to remove a president: Andrew Johnson (no senate conviction), Richard Nixon (resigned) and Bill Clinton (no senate conviction).

Going through the impeachment process with Bush would be a gross and negligent waste of valuable time. There are more pressing issues than partisan politics. If the house moves that direction there will be absolutely nothing accomplished over the next few years and grid-lock will set in during a period where clear, informed and concise action is needed on far too many topics.

So I guess it more public opinion than verifiable criminal misconduct?

Again I would like someone to explain his actual crimes in specific terms.

At least a few key Democrats were saying they weren't seeking impeachment against Bush as early as May of this year. This included presumtive House majority leader Nancy Pelosi. They reiterated it again in late October. This isn't a post-election stance the Democrats have taken.

I agree, their are threats coming over the horizon.
but are you prepared to have BUSH as your leader? the one calling the shots?
This man is not fit to control the world superpower.
America needs to act now, before the sh1t REALLY hits the fan, because your leader does not have your best interests at heart, and does not have the brain capacity to understand complicated issues.

Clinton was impeached for lying about a blow job.
Why shouldnt a man be impeached for lying his country INTO A war.

With Pelosi saying that 'it's off the table', I wonder if there has been a deal already made.......Bush offering support to something the dems want, or at least agreeing not to veto everything they send him??? ( Or it could be Nance got one of those chips when she visited the White House .......one like they gave McCain to make him so pro-George?)

Mk…Impeachment of a president is not a legal process handled by the courts, the process is handled outside the courts.

There are very, very broad discretions given to the House only after The House Judiciary Committee institutes hearing and decides what is causal as an impeachable offense. From here, if any, discernable offenses are found then the impeachment resolution and articles of impeachment would go to the floor of the full House. If the House passes the resolution then the Senate trials open and it takes 67 votes (2/3+1) to convict and remove the president.

Is the impeachment and removal of President Bush from office going to happen? No.

Seeking this option is nothing but a pathetic waste of legislative time...and would be the death of a party that has only won a very slim majority.

Impeachment will never happen, especially with the 2008 election coming in full steam ahead. And while I dislike Bush and many of his policies, I don't support impeachment.

Snatching Defeat From The Jaws Of Victory

The Republicans would love nothing more than for the Democrats to pursue impeachment.

While they're busy doing that, nothing will get done and long-festering problems will continue to get worse.

Then the Democrats can try explaining to the American people in 2008 why they wasted all that time for nothing.

They've got less than two years to fix some serious problems.

If they don't fix them, the electorate will be sure to let them know how they feel about that on Election Day.

What the Dems need to do is watch their own quite frankly. Pelosi is a shill for AIPAC and it looks like it will be business as usual. In fact based upon what I am seeing the US will be involved in an attack on Iran and it will be Dems that vote to do it.
