The saying: It's raining cats & dogs -- comes from a time when people used to store their animals in their attics, with ceilings made of straw
(thatch); so when it rained, the animals would actually slip through the straw and fall into the house.
The saying 'Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater' -- in the past, baths were taken in order of hierarchy, father first, then other males,
then mother, then daughters, with the babies last; if by chance the baby slipped down into the water, it could be lost in the murk and actually thrown
out with the bathwater.
(what mother would forget her baby was in the bath? I'm not sure.)
A planet is revolving about 47 Ursae Majoris, which is a star similiar to our Sun.
The planet in question has a minimum mass of 2.39 Jupiter masses, not to exceed 4.8 Jupiter masses and an orbital period of 2.98 years (amount of time
it takes for the planet to revolve around its sun). This star is 47 light years from Earth.
This is an extremely large planet, revolving about its star at a distance of 44.5 million miles more than Mars is to our Sun. According to
(astronomers) the effective temperature would be 90 degrees Centigrade, and that its atmosphere could contain liquid water.
Half of the golf carts in the USA are made in Poland where there are no golf courses. Even pretending to play golf in Poland is punishable by a stiff
fine.
One day, the universe will be devoid of all energy; our reality is doomed by the laws of thermodynamics to become a vast, heatless (and of course
lifeless) wasteland, and nothing can prevent or reverse this process.
