Many of the targets mentioned in link are military installations, DOE sites and industrial areas linked to the military.

This is old news and like Aelita said, these are targets mostly from the cold war.

Post cold war targets are more or less the same with emphasis being put on high population areas. (Without workers, factories can't manufacture and the industry could very well fall into enemy hands when left intact.)

But let us not worry, full-scale nuclear war and the likelyhood of even 1% of the targets being ever successfully attacked is of pure Hollywood science fiction.

Here's something that really happened though.

Do you really fear the inevitable?

These things have been prophesied!

Just wondering? How many blast sites are there ? Are there that many bombs, and the means to deliver them?

What do you mean exactly by "bomb" sites?

Any place in the U.S could be considered a target.

As I previously posted though..........

Most likely the high value targets for terrorists, or rogue ops, are the nerve centers of the U.S. , those being......

1. Washington D.C. - Our political capital and the seat of our government. A strike against it would disrupt military ops, disaster response, pension checks, postal ops, ect.....

2. New York - Our financial capital. A strike against it would disrupt the stock market, currency trading, destroy the U.N. and eliminate a large part of our ability to negotiate financial transfers with other countries.

3. Los Angeles - One of our major ports. A strike on it would disrupt our economy severely by disrupting our ability to trade goods with other nations. (We are the worlds largest exporter).

To a lesser degree their are other targets within the U.S but those are the big three.

Even just a dirty bomb in each could render them uninhabitable for lengthy periods.
(Think New Orleans except with radiation instead of water).

There are many ways to hit all three targets and plenty of weapons to do it with.

A rogue North Korean sub with nuclear tipped cruise missiles could take out East coast targets.

A "suitcase nuke" could be planted in each city.

Medical nuclear waste could be combined with explosives and detonated in dirty bombs to irradiate urban areas.

We should be honest here. It's not how much you hit, but what you hit, and what you use.

Less than a battalion of "sleeper agents", with the right support and equipment could "crack the U.S like an egg shell" from within.

That's why we need to catch them and kill them. No questions asked. No appeal. If your Al Quada or a jihadist then up the smokestack you go.

We can no longer afford to wear a white hat and expect them to follow the rules.

The only way to catch a "gook" or an Apache is to become a "gook" or an Apache.

We have prisons full of people right now that we could recruit and send in to do the dirty work in exchange for pardons or sentence reductions.

Render them uninhabitable??? Radiation??

Radiation does not render them uninhabitable. It is contamination...which does that. Contamination can be handled....cleaned up eventually. Ever notice how uninhabitable Hiroshima and Nagasaki are??? No one even lived in these citys for 40 plus years after those horrible events??? Yes??

You need to learn the difference in Radiation and Contamination. Contamination lingers long after the initial explosion High Radiation is gone.

Your basic survival formula for radiation exposure is Time, Distance, and Shielding.

Shielding....between you and the source of radiation.

Distance...from the source of radiation

Time...exposed to the source of radiation

Shielding covers alot of ground and methods some of which might surprise you.

Contamination is a different story ..you need certain training and thought processes to handle such. Most contamination can be washed off by certain methods/techniques. What you want to avoid is high levels of internal contamination..inside your body. You would have to wait for it to naturally pass...or flush out. Some treatment is available here but it is about as bad as the contamination and can itself make you ill.

Thank god I live in Australia. Also I don't think NK can do much. They have no good missles, first nukes are heavy and large, would't fit into a suitcase.
