It's a fact that conspiracy theories promote an alternative view on issues. What the White House is saying is that they want everyone to only believe their side of the story on everything, and doing otherwise/thinking for yourself is terrorism.

My "theory" is that the government thrives of terrorism; that it gives it the chance to play the hero; and unite us with fear. Hell they may even cause terrorist attacks.
Because of that I'm never ever going to be a terrorist. Is that bad for national security?

The rest of the statement doesn't surprise me. In fact as far as bending reality is concerned its quite straight I mean the war in Lebanon was a rescue operation, the war is a victory. Come to think of it, victory in Iraq was declared a long time ago. We are taking the battle to the enemy and that's why they aren’t taking it to us.
All his life the leader of Iran has dreamed of blowing up the whole world, he’s insane just Saddam Hussein and all our enemies before him. Speaking of him Iran couldn't possibly have learnt anything from the way Saddam disarmed, and we invaded.

Saddam was a bad man, that's why he was secular and kept the country together. We couldn't possibly think of restoring him (or someone like him). Because Iraq is a democracy getting stronger every day (never mind it took them nearly a year to form a cabinet) the fact is people can speak their minds and only have to worry about having their heads cut of by the local militia a few streets away.

All the time victory is getting nearer, we just need to stick together listening to our mainstream media. The internet is a dangerous place which needs to be controlled; not everyone there favours Israel (barbaric I know).
America is a free country but its illegal to boycott Israel www.rense.com...
Our media is fair and balanced
(False news stories)
www.rense.com...
prisonplanet.tv...
100777.com...
just as America's two party state is an excellent democracy. That's why one Congress man can block a bill which would reveal more detail to the general public and their general government spending. thinkprogress.org...

Places like ATS should be shut down as they install fear in ordinary people even more than George Bush’s speech’s on terrorism

I don't know but something seems odd. We base our opinions on the very same media we bash over and over on the forum. What does it say about us?

You have voted La Balance for the Way Above Top Secret award. (for being able to see straight through to the core of this issue.)

Bingo! The article almost seems to be pointing the finger exactly at the conspiracy theorists here. I'm reminded of the old cliche, "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink".

It also declared that "finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a critical component to winning the war of ideas," and said that "no other issue has so colored the perception of the United States in the Muslim world."

uh, huh.
so, it's 'jews' vs. 'muslims', with 'jews' being equivalent to 'americans'.
uh, huh.

war of 'ideas', indeed.

War of secret society agenda vs growth of Islam or the growth of the West vs the East.

Uh did they ask you if you were excited about the prospects of this struggle? Did they ask you if you were 'on side?'

That this statement should come from this white house borders on absurd... every single point that they have brought up, and some of them are indeed valid, could be applied to the political situition and the people of this country as well. A political regime that is inflexible and effectively disenfranchises a large precentage of the population. A population under-educated as to the nature of the rest of the world, believing what they are spoon fed by the government & media, which despite histronics to the contrary generally work hand in hand and equally alarming, a society with a strong funnymentalist presence that considers its viewpoints, and the viewpoint of an administration that caters to it to be the viewpoint to end all viewpoints and that any questioning of it is tantamont to treason and atheism. Each of these points apply in one degree or the other to both middle eastern Islam and America as she stands today.

No. Iraqis have no right to be angry with Americans. And for the most part they are just angry with the INSURGENTS who keep killing the iraqis and who necessitate America sticking around.

You seem to be taking comfort in simplifications. Who are the "insurgents"? Right, majority are the Iraqis who happen to be either Shia or Sunni and who therefore are blowing the daylights out of each other, and out of our soldiers when they get a chance. None of this inter-ethnic and religious strife was happeining under Saddam.

Without the insurgents, we'd be gone already.

Sure, that's why we started the contruction of 14 major permanent bases even before the chaos elevated to the current level.
