Good thought Toltec, good timing.

My objection with these quasi-religious holidays is the crass commercialism forced down your throat with a dollop of fake tradition.

The timing of most seasonal holidays has been carefully orchestrated by Churches as a kind of theft of intellectual property (what people had previously stored as significant in their heads).

From the article:

The Christian Church was unable to get the people to stop celebrating this holiday, so they simply sprinkled a little holy water on it and gave it new names, as they did with other Paleopagan holidays and customs. This was a form of calendrical imperialism, co-opting Paleopagan sacred times, as they had Paleopagan sacred places (most if not all of the great cathedrals of Europe were built on top of earlier Paleopagan shrines and sacred groves). So when Fundamentalists come to your local school board and try to get Halloween removed from the public schools because its a Pagan holiday, they are perfectly correct.

Everything is about Corperate and Commercial profit now! Nothing, as far as a Day of Celebration or Cultural Tradition has any meaning it seems anymore. It's soooo Cheesy!! Holiday's are "Frocking Clown Shoes!" It's all about $$$ and consumerism. Everything from Loads of Gifts to massive Flag Sales or Patriotic Paper Hats. Not that symbols or celebration is a bad thing at all. Heck, I love almost all of them. But the meaning and reason behind the celebration in almost every case has been totally SOLD OUT!! It's really quite depressing that everything has become so shallow and meaningless, at least the majority anyway. Didn't mean to point any fingers at you True Pagan's out there or anything....

Side Note: What's up with the whole "NEO" prefix that gets added to all the old cult stuff anyway??? I mean does everything need an upgrade. Neo-Pagan is really almost an Oxymoron or something. I think we should just leave the classics alone sometimes, ya know. No Woodstock 2's or NEO/NEW Coke's, or Technocolor crap!! It just makes things look cheap.

Yeah, the Judeo-Christian religion is notorious for "borrowing" a lot of ideas from older religions. This was because they could make conversions to the "Juedeo-Christian Way" much easier if it had a lot of resemblences to the religions they were converting from.

You may note that the majority of their "borrowed" material came from the old Celtic Druidism/Naturalism because the Keltoi were the main targets for religious conversion during that "formative period" that literally *defined* most of the Judeo-Christian "tradition".

Most if not all major holidays are in honor of pagan rites as practised in the past.

Halloween is all hallows eve and is the high holy holiday for occultists (satanists too).

It begins at early in the week for the really serious types as they prepare for the black mass.

This is a time to check out the masonic lodges I think for activity.

Noted that today the children were home even the local Catholic school was closed for the day.

I have an Adventist church/school within walking distance as well and while they were open they through a real big outdoors party today.

Interestingly enough Witch means "wise one" not "wicked one" as has often been implied.

Perhaps it time to begin to understand, that Heritage should not be ignored or stereotyped.

Any thoughts?

Dany,

so you deny that it is a high satanic holiday/celebration?

what are you doing later tonight btw?

where is your worship going on?

Theneo the image used for the devil was originally called Urn a God related to the Harvest. In reality the term satanic did not exist until the advent of Christianity
that is unless you count the term Setian.

Setians are adherents to the philosophy of Set, which was an Egyptian Pharaoh who considered human sacrifices as needed and demanded by the Gods. This type of behavior is common to all ancient cultures as suggested for instance with respect to Abraham and his son.

Also would ask if what do you know about the seven sisters??

Any thoughts?

Didn't notice this 'till after the day.
I went into a forest where I met loads of my SATANic brethren and we sacrificed hundreds of virgins to our DARK LORD and SAVIOUR.
Then we danced naked about a fire and held ORGIASTIC ceremonies of death and discomfort.
Then, when we got bored we went trick or treating and got loads of cookies.

Only as defined by the major Judeo-Christian Organized Religion. Since when is veneration of the dead *have* to be automatically linked with evil?...Since the Church decided to.

Veneration of the dead means as much honoring your ancestors as it does attempting to protect yourself from those who were evil as well as being dead. So, in truth, a celebration based upon the honoring of the dead is not, and *should* not, be automatically considered as evil.
