Numerous Extra-Terrestrial Signals being picked up by SETI

Whats the point of having SETI and not being able to publish findings...? There whole existence and purpose is to find ET signals.

Its like being a lifeguard whose unable to enter the water. It defeats the object.

I think most people go to lifeguarded beaches because seeing the lifeguard sit there makes them feel safe. I doubt anyone knows whether the life guards can swim or not. (Of course, they can, but thats besides th point.) I could put on a red speedo (ewwwwww) and go sit in a high chair and people would swim at the beach feeling safe. They might wonder how someone so out of shape became a lifeguard, but whatever. Some would argue that SETI is the same thing.

Personally, I have absolutely no reason to believe that is true. Again, unless Greer releases more information, we have nothing to judge rationally.
