Hi everyone,

I had a kind of crazy thought today....I was wondering...let's say you wanted to work on a facility like Area 51 or Dulce or any other base of that nature....What agency or orginaztion would you have to work for to gain access to these facilities?
I know this is kind of a stupid question...but I was just very curious =). As always thank you for your time and I will be awaiting your responses earnestly =)

Questions aren't stupid! We use them to learn. I'll bet adleast 25 or 30 other people are wondering the same thing but afraid to ask.

You would need to work for an orginization that handles high-level classified information and is involved in research or security. Here are a few good places to start:

Government
Department of Defense (DoD)
National Security Agency (NSA)
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)
US Air Force

Contarctors
Northrop Grumman
Lockheed Martin
Boeing
EG&G Special Pojects
E-Systems
Loral
Wakenhut Security
Science Applications International Corperation (SAIC)

There's a short list of the biggies for you!

Tim

No doubt it would help if you were Delta, a Ranger, etc.

Don't forget Sandia National Laboratories about an hour and a half south of Dulce.

Yes. Los Alamos National Laboratory harbors a lot of secrets. No one thinks much about that place sometimes, but it's got some of the weirdest stuff you could think of housed there.

I bet you would have to be a scientific genius, certified psychologist, and engineer at the top levels of your classes to be get considered a job in an area like this. Since most of it is so secretive.

These places are probably full of offshore employees from across the world to perhaps.

Some serious eggheads at that place. Average salary is like $93K. They do alotta cool stuff there for sure. Lotta contractor jobs there too.

The town was just voted the best when it comes to saving for retirement or some weird poll like that, by Forbes i think.

I have family and relatives who've worked at Los Alamos.

There is common theme among my family, both on mother and father's side, for an attraction to science, but only one PhD. No, not me...

While such laboratories are seen as the holy grail and elitist, the people who work there genuinely love what they do, pure research.

It's not out of anyone's league unless they dedicate their passion to excel!

Los Alamos has a tough recruiting policy. Luckily it's close to lots of casinos.

Just for general info about the area. Dulce, the Jicarilla Tribe that is, does not offer many technical jobs and there aren't any 'secret' jobs listed to members of the jicarilla nation. There are a number of oil companies in the area. When people talk of mysterious white trucks, these are usually oil company trucks or Jicarilla Forestry. The tribe doesn't plaster it's logo on every vehicle it owns.

No they aren't! Los Alamos and other weapons research labs require their employees to have a security clearance. The First requirement for a security clearence is that you be a US Citizen. Citizenship is one of the first things that has to be verified during a background check.
