So the Jews don�t follow an organised religion? There are other Christians that choose to worship on Saturday as well.

Even if it WAS around before the others (which it wasn�t) doesn�t validate anything (especially a belief). From what I know about evolution, cave men wont that bright - I would call them particularly stupid compared to modern day man. Um...if you are really concerned about "bringing around Pagans to your point of view" & saving a few souls...you need a different tactic, mate. Obviously this fire-and-brimstone bit isn't working. Do you get the Prayer Channel where you are? They have several fine programs that talk about the word of God but don't turn people off. Even the Pope doesn't go around the world yelling at natives and stuff like that about how they're going to hell if they don't believe in Jesus. Even Jesus tended to speak in parables & so forth to make his message palatble. Learn from them & the reactions of people in this board.

Yes Cassie you are correct, but I am merely stating the truth. I lack the means to save pagans souls; I can merely point them to the true path.

Don't you know that the Catholic church has embraced pagan beliefs since its birth - they are just a guise for a Christian faith.

The Pope has the Authority to dictate Church Policy here on earth. Some things which coincide with some pagan beliefs where introduced into the church (such as the move of the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday). I do not have the time nor the inclination to look up the reasons for these moves but there are plenty of Catholic sites which will give you a proper interpretation of the reasons behind this.

Look the proof is in the teachings of the Catholic Church, if I could prove it to you then that would affect your precious free will now wouldn�t it? I mean if I prove God exist with out a shadow of doubt to you then what choice do you truly have? You know for a fact what will happen to you if you don�t worship him, so your free will goes out the window doesn�t it. That is why there will never be proof in entirety else there is no choice, and �YOU� must choose, God or not God.

Everyone really? You seem quite vocal but that is about it. In fact I have just been responding to your post mainly. Seraphim_Serpente came out with the personal attacks I merely responded to it. Again I make no apologies for speaking the truth, I am just stating the facts. To the topic at hand:

Paganism = New Age well what is the definition of the word Pagan where did it come from? Well Pagan came from the Latin word Paganus which, prior to 314 and the legitimatization of the Catholic Faith, translated to a Citizen who wasn�t in the Military. Others have stated that it meant villager or �hick� even. Both translations could be true I have only looked up and found it to mean a citizen who was not in the military and that was prior to 314 and the change of faith of the Roman people. I am unsure of the date but one of the Roman emperors after 314 (I think it was actually in 400 ac some time) decreed that all Soldiers must be in the Christian faith. The word Paganus meaning began to change after this time. Instead of meaning a Citizen who was not in the Military, it took on the meaning of a person who was not of the Catholic Faith. So to my knowledge New Age individuals are not members of the Catholic Faith right, so therefore they are pagans. And that is how Paganism = New Age.

If you are wondering what about Christians not of the Catholic faith technically they are heretics since they hold a deferent interpretation than the Catholic Church. Lately the Catholic Church has had a lessoning of its stance against these heretics and has graciously allowed for them to acknowledge that the Catholic Church is the first and true church of Christ, if they did that then those churches would be considered legitimate offshoots of the Catholic Church.

LadyV of all the things that where written including the little spin on Free Will, which was directed at you, you chose to respond to that one line and that line only� I am disappointed. NeoPaganism is viewed as "New Age" because it fell out of fashion and then came back. It came back, in my opinion, as a backlash against the established religions. At one point, Christianity would have been New Age.

As for Paganism, Wicca etc tracing their roots back thousands of years....so can I, don't make me a Viking

Why are pagans so upset at falling into the new age group anyway? Is being a new ager such a bad thing?

Speaking as a pagan myself..I understand exactly what you are saying...preachers espescially here in the southern us are telling the young people of our future that "christianity" is the ONLY way to go and I think it is total crap...How can a christian criticize a pagan when christians celebrate thier "Christmas", Jesus's so called birthday..on a day that originally started out as the beginning of the winter soltice, Halloween which has been "America-fied" If I may say..october 31st is the day of the dead..samhain. Jack-O-Lanterns were originally brought to america by the irish, and they started out as turnips. Anyway I could go on and on about the "holliday". It all started in the 1300's or so when pope urban II decided to convert the people of europe to christianity, and to appeal to the people he decided to "steal" pagan hollidays and turn them into christian hollidays, he forbid the people to practice their religion..pagans have always been oppressed, and im quite sure they always will be. If I were to be living in Salem, MA in the 1600's right now..or almost anywhere then..i would have been burned at the stake..and to think that "Christians" could do that to any person is beyond me....ya lets put her in the water, if she can swim shes a witch and we hang her...if she sinks she drowns and no one will ever know...

As to what's so bad about New agrers that was asked....not all, but a lot of new agers tend to be, shall we say, on the flaky side....they want to follow some of the pagan ideas, but are afraid to call themselves pagan....then we have the goths...who are pagan wanna bees...we have our problems too. Christians have the people that go around preaching against homosexuality nad you shouldn't sin while spending money are porn, cheating on spouses, fudging on taxes, lying, having sex before marriage....that make the faith look bad to others, we have the posers that make us look terrible..

Venerable? I think maybe 'venereal' is probably a more apt description. The Pope made the public announcement "It is a scientific fact that condoms don't protect against the aids virus." Given the power he has.. and the uneducted worshipers that reside in impoverished aids infested countires and accept everything he says as fact.. to me this disinformation is akin to genocide. I also find it funny that a Pagan can criticize Christianity when several "Modern" types of Paganism trace their roots back to religions that performed human sacrifice.

What's this about "Blaming the son for the sins of the father?"

Sadly the fact is all you pagans are going to hell. The only way you can stop that is if you give up your Satan inspired Wiccan pagan belief and embrace the one true faith.
