Your first three all seem to lead to the FDA, so maybe that should go on your list.

Mine would be:

1) Godzilla
2) Celebrity Culture/tabloid press. Why am I supposed to care and why do they want me to care so much.
3) The "24 hour" news cycle. Which is not a twenty four hour news cycle but basically eight hours of recycled news run in a loop and most of it isn't really news anyway.
4) Gamara
5) Public school system

IMO of course.

I was hoping to see bankers or international finance on your list somewhere?

I really like the drug industry being on the list though.

Some may have added the food manufacturing industry and the fast food industry too.

I'm glad you brought up the matter of these diseases...

Though I'd DEFINATELY mention Tuberculosis in the list.
9 million new cases a year
around 2 billion recorded deaths
en.wikipedia.org...

Though I'd have to agree that he should keep Religion in the list. In one of my school text books, it actually takes the liberty of explaining how more people in history have died in religious conflicts and wars than just about anything else; and religion is the number one cause of land disputes.

hey seekerof
There is a real connection between the type of deaths you described and food/tobaco/alcohol eg lung cancer from smoking, heart disease from fatty foods etc.

I thought of one human behaviour that trumps all as the top killer IMO:

Yes, its called personal responsibility (something noone seems to have anymore). If you make the choice to smoke, eat alot of unhealthy foods or drink and shorten your life span, its your own damn fault for doing so.

I beg to differ. I see tolerance as being our downfall.
We're expected to accept everything nowadays....the bad along with the good......WRONG!
Political correctness is killing America.

The number one killer in the world today is the same one that has always been #1.

1. Starvation

The reasons for this are as varied and bizarre as the geo/political world situation.

I stand with Blain and Toadmund

hate and Greed!!

Jesus, God and Mohammed are all tied. Their followers have killed more people on their behalf than any other group or entity.

They are all guilty but there is one factor that lets them slip away innocently.

ignorance. ignorance of other cultures. Ignorance of other religions. Ignorance of other social beliefs.

Gamara is higher on the list than Godzilla and Mothra is higher than them both.

I gonna beg even harder to differ. My monster was intolerence which I didn't think I would have to defend but since i do here goes. When I say intolernce I mean all hatred towards others with no real reason. Starting wars because of religion or race, Homophobia, people looking to fight you because you look different. I'm pretty sure your talking about your country and the whole immigration thing( I hope) and that is not at all what I was saying.
Intolerence IS killing America!

It looks to me that the main killer of Humans are Humans.
It may well be that the main killer of the planet and all it's
inhabitants are Humans too.

Tick-tock for the metorite!

Its insidious, and very subtle, but the invention of marshmallow fluff. God that stuff in super-saturated amounts....it'll kill ya!

As humans, we have only one thing going for us animals don't - its our brains and the ability to use them with free will. In my opinion - that's the only killer there is.

Now show people how to use that (or even try using it at all!!!) and now we're talking a solution. Let evolution take care of the rest.
