Proof that rising gas prices are hurting seniors and lower income people.
Pawn shops get a rise in business as prices go up.
In yet another sign that gas prices are hurting Americans in the pocketbook, people are using ever more desperate means to fill their tanks. That
includes selling some of their personal items to help pay at the pump.
It's a trend increasingly seen around the country and right here in the Arklatex, with people pawning everything from c-d's to tools to jewelry
and often with the very same comment: "I've run out of money this week. I've got a paycheck coming in on Friday. It's Thursday but I have to
put some gas in the car to get me to my job to get my check," narrated Craig Toys.
Now whats going to happen when the prices even go higher? People won't be able to afford to go to work.
