I've downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CS2 to see how I get on with it.

Have quickly found I'm out of my depth and finding it difficult to master even the basics.

Just looking at some of the excellent Avatars arround here, there must be alot of you who use Photoshop.

I need to get hold of an idiots guide to Photoshop so can someone recommend something before I go
spending money on something which doesn't really help.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks

JM

I suggest you Google the term "Photoshop Basics" to find beginner tutorials. You need to learn how to use the tools and layers.

Remember though Photoshop costs around $1000.00. For a less expensive alternative around $100.00 you could look at Photoshops younger brother Adobe Elements.

I've just recently downloaded, and purchased CS2. Go to the Adobe Website, they have tutorials there....

I have found myself drowning, and in deep waters with this App as well.

Also check out this thread, by EnronOutrunHomerun....

There are a couple of other CS2 related threads in 'member art' as well. You'll have to search a little for them, though.

Thanks Kinglizard - I had done that but there were so many to choose from
I wanted to see if someone could recommend something because once you
have paid your money then you're stuck with the tutorial.

Yep I did see the price and I don't think I'll be buying it ! the Abode Elements looks more suitable for my pocket.

Thanks anyway,

JM

Here are a couple I've used in the past though I'm not too sure if it will help you understand the basics. I mostly learned by messing around with the program and using the "help" function in Photoshop. Best of luck it's a wonderful program.
