No one you'll ever know will have the answer, and those who do have the answer you'll never know.
There's no true answer as to "why" and "how" etc. etc., we can only speculate.
However, I will try to answer the "why" question, using human research as revelance.
Why do we disect animals? Why do we take organs from animals? Why do we research unknown species? For science, for medical benefits, for many many
reasons. However most of them deal with scientifical research.
But since cattle mutilations are very specific, as to what they cut out, (Very specific, down to the cell, I can't stress enough how important it is
that the mutilations aren't mutilations, they're very beautiful and on an atomical level) So I would think health benefits and such.
But who knows? Maybe only that specific thing in cattle is an alternate source of energy for their spacecraft. Who knows?
