U2Us and Quota

I'm confused. When I log into the 'Member Center', above my U2U inbox it says:

You have 86 total U2U's. Your quota is 50.



When I first joined ATS, I made sure I deleted whatever surplus so that I would not exceed the quota. But after a while I forget to clean up the inbox, and I realize that nothing happened.

Is this normal? Or is there like a time limit, say maybe after a month of exceeding the U2U quota whatever surplus U2Us get deleted automatically?

Or is it just there to scare newbies like I was when I first joined?

You are over your quota.

You should either delete u2u's - or buy more space in the member center (Add 100 to U2U quota = 250 points).

Otherwise you'll soon will get a message like: please delete some u2u to be able to send a u2u.

Ah.. ok. I thought I could get away with not deleting any messages indefinitely.

On the avatars - thank you They are all Malaysian beaches and coastlines of our many beautiful islands, except for the one with the leatherback turtle -- that's on the mainland.

No, what Riwka said, actually.

The easiest way to lower your U2U count is to delete your outbox. At first I didn't notice that outgoing messages also add into your U2U count. If you're like me and you respond to every message you get, it probably accounts for about half of your U2Us, which will bring you back under the limit without having to delete precious inbound mail.

I don't know how you wracked up almost 90 U2Us since February though. I must be vastly unpopular, as the majority of my mail is just applauses and mass-mailing . I feel so alone

Guess it's U2U spring cleaning time again, hehe...

To be perfectly honest, I never even thought about the outbox...I'll bet that's a lot of them...
