Looking from here it looks like a little taller landing gear would help.
That due to the main gear needs to be just behind the CG so as to allow rotation for takeoff in a reasonable distance.

Main gear at the extreme aft end of the aircraft requires a lot more speed before enough lift is gained for rotation and most airports wouldn't have the length required.

Thank's for the advice, I'm not surprised it's not perfectly aerodynamic, origonally it was meant to be a kind of submersable vehicle with a water jet engine.
